Language access is a civil right. Trump's rollback of vital translation services across federal agencies is a blatant attack on immigrant communities. More than 25 million people will be stripped of translation resources for Medicare, home loans, FEMA aid, & other lifelines.
Congratulations to the 2025 #CongressionalAppChallenge winners from CA-28! I’m astonished by the talent behind each submission, showing the importance of STEM education for our youth. Thank you to every young coder who participated this year! chu.house.gov/media-center...
I made sure Republicans heard her story, & the stories of everyday Americans who are needlessly struggling because of their cruelty and inaction.
Earlier this week at @housebudgetdems.bsky.social, we heard from Rena Bumbray-Graves, a home care worker. Because Republicans refuse to extend the ACA premium tax credits, Rena's premiums skyrocketed by 139% and she was forced to drop her health care coverage.
Today’s @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social hearing made one thing crystal clear: Republicans aren’t interested in strengthening health care or protecting patients. They refused to extend the ACA tax credits causing millions to forgo health care this year, and families across California are suffering.
Our neighbors are living in fear because of the violent and lawless actions of the Trump administration. But Republicans put forth a bill to increase funding for the Department of Homeland Security without any oversight or accountability measures for ICE and DHS.
I stand with @reprocaucus.bsky.social and I will not stop fighting back against Republicans' push toward a nationwide abortion ban. Every woman in every zip code across our nation, regardless of their circumstance or income, deserves access to abortion care.
This doesn’t have to be our reality. My bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act, would restore the right to abortion care nationwide and ensure that patients and providers can make lifesaving medical decisions without fear of prosecution.
Today marks 53 years since #RoevWade, and the 4th year without its protections. Millions of women are being forced to travel hundreds of miles for abortion care. Too many have needlessly suffered or died because of extreme Republican abortion bans that criminalize care & sacrifice women’s lives.
ICE detained a father and his 5-year-old son Liam after they got home from pre-school pick up. ICE then used Liam as bait to try to kidnap more people. Now, Liam & his father are detained thousands of miles away from their home. No one is safe in Trump's America. It’s sickening.
I was proud to join survivors and our community at Monterey Park's first-ever Resiliency Day. Together we will continue to heal and fight to end gun violence once and for all.
Three years ago, my hometown of Monterey Park endured the deadliest mass shooting in Los Angeles County history. But in the face of unfathomable tragedy, I have witnessed extraordinary strength and unity in our journey toward healing.
Yesterday, I spoke before the Rules Committee to oppose H.R. 6945, a bill that does nothing to lower costs or support families. Instead, it funds deception, undermines real health care, and advances Republicans’ push for total control over women's private health care decisions.
This violent attack occurred in the midst of Lunar New Year celebrations, a time meant for joy, togetherness and peace. Instead, we were left with unimaginable loss. And yet, our community stands together with resilience, compassion, and strength. Together, we will continue to heal.
The lives of 11 of our loved ones were taken. They were parents and grandparents, wives and husbands, neighbors and friends. They each made profound impacts on their families and communities, and their absence is still felt today.
Today marks three years since the tragic mass shooting at the Star Dance Studio in my hometown of Monterey Park - the deadliest mass shooting in L.A. County's history.
Trump spent the weekend threatening our treaty allies with a military invasion to seize Greenland because he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize. This talk of invading Greenland is absurd and embarrassing. Congress needs to put a stop to this now.
