I was grateful to join the Glendora Salute to Veterans lunch to honor our local heroes. Our veterans bravely served our country and they deserve the highest quality care and support.
This November, we recognize Veterans and Military Family Appreciation Month. As a Navy veteran, I know that serving our nation was hard on my loved ones and presented unique challenges. For all that our military families do to support those in uniform, I salute you.
Today, we celebrate Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, to honor and remember those who have passed in our lives and pay respect to our ancestors. Wishing everyone in CA-31 a peaceful Día de los Muertos surrounded by your friends, family, and loved ones.
Trump’s reckless policies are hurting hardworking families and driving up costs. Thanks to his illegal war and chaotic tariffs, families in CA-31 are paying $5,900+ more. Halloween candy alone is up 15.3%. This Halloween is all tricks and no treats.
Ramón Colón-López, from Puerto Rico, became the most senior enlisted leader in the military, rising to the role of Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff until his retirement in 2023.
Angelina Salinas broke barriers as the first Hispanic woman to become a general in the Marines. She was also the first woman to command a Marine Corps Recruit Depot.
Linda Garcia Cubero, a Mexican American, made history when she graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1980. She graduated in the first class of women accepted there, and became the first Hispanic woman to do so.
Richard Edward Cavazos left a lasting legacy as the first Mexican American to achieve the rank of brigadier general and the first Hispanic American four-star general in the Army.
I introduced a resolution recognizing the generations of Hispanic and Latino servicemembers who have served our nation with valor. In honor of their noteworthy contributions to our armed forces, I want to uplift their legacy of service throughout American history.
A constituent had issues receiving their IRS refund, so they opened a casework request with my office. Thanks to my staff’s hard work, they received their refund six weeks later. If you live in CA-31 and need assistance dealing with the IRS, we may be able to help!
As the freshman representative of the @hispaniccaucus.bsky.social, I encourage everyone to review our voting rights guidance ahead of the upcoming elections. If you experience voter intimidation, report it immediately to a poll worker or local election office.
Today, we lost a Giant in the labor and civil rights movement. Dolores Huerta fought for equality, justice, and freedom, and inspired generations of organizers. Her legacy of championing working people and fighting for a better world for us all will live on forever. May she rest in power.
