Peace in Ukraine must come on Ukraine’s terms, not Russia’s. Trump’s arbitrary Thanksgiving deadline and draft peace plan full of Russian priorities has this backwards. A peace deal that sacrifices Ukraine’s freedom is no peace at all—just an invitation for Putin to try again.
Today, the EPA has approved pesticides containing “forever chemicals” for use in our food, despite health and environmental concerns. Relaxing food safety rules will only benefit corporations and put the health of Americans and the environment at risk. Is American Healthy yet???
All workers deserve the freedom to join a union. I stand in solidarity with Teamsters at Connecticut Distributors who are striking after stalled negotiations & anti-union actions. Keep up the fight for fair wages, benefits, & dignity!
The Coast Guard changed its policy, calling swastikas “potentially divisive”. Then DHS lied about it and got caught. This is Kristi Noem’s leadership in a nutshell: divisive, hostile, and dishonest. Our Coast Guard deserves better.
Today on #TransgenderDayOfRemembrance, we remember & honor the lives of those in the transgender community that have been lost due to hate. With my colleges in the Equality Caucus, I am committed to combatting hate and ending the scourge of anti-trans violence.
Farmers & working families are struggling to make ends meet right now. Trump’s trade wars are only making matters worse. I'm urging the Trump Administration to include small, family, and specialty crop farms in any federal effort to provide economic relief for farm losses.
My Democratic colleagues whose lives Donald Trump threatened today have served their country with honor and distinction. Calling for the death of your political opponents is unacceptable and dangerous. The White House must retract its threats immediately.
Today, the Italian American Congressional Delegation leaders released a letter requesting the Commerce Department pause proposed tariffs on pasta from Italy. Tariffs of this scale could harm a valued ally & raise prices for millions of American consumers.
Great seeing you again, @gwenmillsuh.bsky.social. From New Haven to DC, always appreciate our fight to strengthen the labor movement and ensuring workers have a real voice.
We celebrated the groundbreaking of Middlefield’s new public safety facility – a result of years of cooperation between residents, first responders, & elected officials. I was proud to secure $2.25 million for this project to improve emergency response and coordination.
The Trump Administration's reckless tariff policies are already raising costs for consumers and businesses across the country and in our community. This morning, I stopped by Vinnie's Italian Importing to highlight the effects of the disastrous tariffs on Italian pasta. youtube.com/shorts/U8x7G...
Today, I sent the FDA a letter requesting all available information from ByHeart, an infant formula manufacturer, after alarming food safety reports. There must never be a question in parents’ minds that the formula they give to their children is safe.
🚨ATTENTION: Are you or a loved one a United States Senator implicated in the January 6th insurrection? YOU may be entitled to financial compensation!
Food pantries in my district are on the frontlines of Trump’s cruel attempts to cut food stamps during the shutdown despite funding being available. Trump illegally cut off food from children, seniors, veterans, & the disabled. I’ll continue to defend SNAP against his attacks.
📢Recall Alert: ByHeart, a manufacturer of organic baby formula has recalled all of its products sold nationwide after some batches were recalled in an expanding outbreak of infant botulism. Please dispose of any ByHeart products you may have.
Throughout America’s history, whenever our nation asked, our best & bravest have answered the call. American veterans put on the uniform to protect our way of life, & defend liberty & democracy. My gratitude is with every veteran & their families on this day of remembrance.
