Republicans shut down the government and then skipped town. Democrats are ready to address the health care crisis, lower costs, and cancel cuts. Republicans are on vacation.
If Republicans let health care tax credits expire, premiums will skyrocket. Democrats are standing up and fighting to lower costs, cancel the cuts, save health care.
OMB Director Russ Vought announced that the Department of Energy would terminate $8 billion in energy projects, targeting 16 Democratic states. Canceling these projects will increase energy prices, eliminate jobs, & weaken the energy grid. The FULL list: bit.ly/46KSJvm
I am heartbroken by the horrendous attacks this morning in Manchester, England. Anti-semitism must be condemned in all its forms. I am praying for the families and community affected and remain grateful for the brave first responders.
BREAKING: Two people have died and three others are in serious condition after a synagogue attack in the UK, police say.
Undocumented immigrants are not eligible for federally funded healthcare—Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, all of it. Republicans claiming otherwise are just lying—badly.
Russ Vought’s gleeful announcement that the White House will be canceling energy projects in Connecticut & across the country is a direct partisan attack that we can't ignore. It's reckless & betrays both common sense & public trust. Read More: bit.ly/3KpULtz
Funding for the federal government has expired after Republicans, who control Congress & the White House, refused a bipartisan path forward. My office is open & prepared frequently asked questions to assist you. I will keep fighting to end their chaos. bit.ly/46IphYl
I wish our Jewish community in Connecticut and across the country a meaningful and reflective Yom Kippur. Especially during these trying times, may this day bring clarity, compassion, and renewal for the year ahead. G’mar Chatimah Tovah!
Democrats are standing up for Americans' healthcare. Republicans are frantically making up lies about illegal immigrants because they know their Big Ugly Law is extremely unpopular. Lying is their entire strategy, and it's being exposed.
Republicans are desperate to have you believe Democrats are fighting for healthcare for “illegal immigrants”. The truth is the law already bars them from federally funded healthcare. The Republican crisis will leave 15 million Americans uninsured & raise costs for 22 million.
House Democrats are here in Washington, D.C. ready to negotiate and fight to keep the government open. Where are Republicans? On vacation. Republicans control Congress and the White House. If the government shuts down it is their responsibility.
Just a moment ago, I put forward a plan to keep the government open. Republicans tanked it so they could remain on vacation while Americans struggle with the health care crisis they’ve created. It’s time to lower costs, cancel the cuts, and save health care.
September is Suicide Prevention Month. I am proud to continue fighting for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline funding to provide support to Americans who need it. You are never alone. If you are struggling, please call or text 988 for help.
Sikorsky has built the finest helicopters in the world since opening over a century ago—all proudly made in Connecticut. I'm proud to announce a new $10.855 billion contract, which will support local high-paying jobs, boosting the CT economy & strengthening our national defense.
President Trump’s reckless tariffs are causing chaos and raising already high costs for hardworking Americans and seniors. From prescription drugs to your morning coffee — his actions take more money out of your pocket to reward his billionaire friends.
No one should have to live in a home that doesn't meet the bare minimum of their needs. Park Ridge residents deserve more from their landlord— like basic safety & security. I’ll continue to work with my Senate colleagues to ensure tenant complaints & issues are resolved.
Trump stands for no one but himself. He cares for nothing but his own gain. And he will not stop with James Comey. Anyone he holds a grudge against could be next. That’s the real danger here.
September is #FoodSafetyEducationMonth, meaning it would be a great time for Boar's Head to educate the Congressional Food Safety Caucus on its plans to reopen their Jarratt, VA facility & why they continue ignoring basic food safety.
Thanks to the Republican controlled government, 20,000 people in CT-03 will see a HUGE increase in their health care costs. I will keep fighting to stop Republicans from taking away your coverage! This is an outrage.
