President Trump & @USTreasury Secretary Scott Bessent aren't focused on addressing the cost-of-living crisis. They are making it worse. Join me at 10am to investigate how the Trump administration plans to address hardworking Americans' economic concerns.⬇️ youtu.be/fSpeNckDKL4
I stand with the hardworking members of IAM Locals 1746 & 700 who have voted to strike. These highly skilled workers help power one of Connecticut’s most critical industries.   I'm hopeful an agreement can be reached that reflects the immense value these workers bring.
Since 1965, Head Start has helped millions of families by providing high-quality early childhood education.   Head Start supports families with child development and learning. Providing support to hardworking families when it matters most, during a child’s early years.
Today, I stood with parents and advocates to call for protecting Head Start from Republican attacks. This program gives kids a strong start in life – supporting parents, nurturing young minds, and setting children up for success. We cannot let Republicans gut it.
Always grateful to speak with Jennifer Garner & @savethechildren.org about the critical need to protect programs like Head Start, SNAP, & WIC. Cutting funding for these lifelines only hurts our hardworking families & vulnerable communities. Thank you for joining us in this fight.
The Administration is slashing $1,000,000,000 in funding that helps schools support our kids mental health during this gun violence epidemic. Removing this support abandons our children & teachers by stripping these resources that keep our kids’ safe.
Today, @repjohnlarson.govpeeps.us, @repdwightevans.bsky.social, Rep. Lois Frankel,& I are continuing to push the Trump Administration to reinstate a reasonable 10% claw back of monthly benefits, not their drastic 50 percent. We are in a cost of living crisis. We can't rip money away from seniors.
This month, we honor the remarkable contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, & Pacific Islanders. Their achievements in the arts, sciences, & countless other fields strengthen our nation. Let's celebrate & uplift AANHPI communities today & every day of the year!
The Order of Merit of the Italian Republic is the highest-ranking honor of the Italian Republic.   Past recipients include Federico Fellini, Gianni Versace, Sir David Attenborough, and Ambassador Zappia. I’m truly humbled to be in such company.
Thank you, Ambassador Mariangela Zappia, for awarding me with the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic as Commendatore.   As a daughter of Italian immigrants, this recognition means the world to my family & me. I'm so grateful to share this moment with my fellow Italian Americans.🇮🇹🇺🇸
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. You are not alone, help is here. In 2022, I established the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline to provide support to Americans who need it. Our communities should have support 24/7. For more, please visit 988lifeline.org

When he was six years old, Leader Jeffries’ son Joshua explained that “debacle” means “something bad.” On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social explains how the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency have been a debacle for the American people.
Americans count on USPS to deliver everything from their medicine, to their holiday cards, to their ballots. While Republicans want to privatize the postal service, hurting rural communities & seniors, @democrats-appropriations.house.gov are fighting to protect & improve USPS: youtu.be/9qYz_yD5vY4
100 days and more than $1,000,000,000 in NIH grants canceled— grants that were set to fund vital research on Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, and more. Research already conducted has been thrown out. But sure, this is supposed to benefit our hardworking communities...
President Trump has not been laser focused on the cost-of-living crisis. He promised to fight for the working-class but instead he has handed the government over to Elon Musk and his billionaire friends.
The Trump Administration refuses to protect the civil rights of LGBTQI+ Americans. It’s time to pass the Equality Act and ensure everyone—regardless of who they are or who they love—can live free from fear and discrimination.

Starting at 10! Congresswoman @delauro.house.gov will lead a Democratic hearing to examine the consequences of the Trump Administration’s efforts to dismantle the CDC and our public health system. Dean @ashishkjha.bsky.social will join other expert testimony.
Tomorrow I am going live with @democrats-appropriations.house.gov at 10AM ET to expose the Trump Administration’s attempts to obliterate the CDC and America’s public health system. Tune in and see how their plans will leave Americans sicker and more vulnerable. www.youtube.com/live/P3ZLOrq...
