Republicans say the 6,000 veterans President Trump abandoned aren’t fit to serve in government—but they were fit enough to put their lives on the line. They sacrificed for this country, and now Republicans are tossing them aside without a second thought. www.militarytimes.com/veterans/202...
More lies from President Trump! Instead of cutting prices on day 1 like he promised, he wants to put tariffs on our closest allies and hurt our economy. Inflation has increased and the cost of living is up! What is your real goal? Enriching billionaires? 🤔
If Trump was serious about bringing the cost of living down, he would help make permanent the expanded, monthly Child Tax Credit. Instead, he hurts our economy and our children by firing veterans and dismantling our education system.
The reality is that in the 43 days he’s been in office, Trump has illegally stolen funds promised to the American people, killed crucial government programs, and is weakening our healthcare system.
While egg prices continue to go up, and as Americans continue to live paycheck to paycheck, what do Musk and President Trump do? Gut the services Americans rely on to enrich their billionaire cabal.
I regret Republican leadership’s unwillingness to negotiate final government funding bills. This is just an excuse for not being able to deliver Republican votes when they have full control of the House, the Senate, and the White House.
Education is power. Every child in our country deserves to have access to a quality education. Let there be no mistake: stripping our children's access to education hurts working class families and their communities. #ProtectOurKids
Every child deserves access to a high-quality education and a chance to achieve the American dream. Any effort to harm our educational system is a threat to the future of our children and our country.
We must remember the words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” Today, as our democracy continues to be threatened, I will not stop fighting to make education more accessible to all Americans.
Today, I’m honored to have Connecticut’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, Julia Miller, as my guest at the President's joint address to Congress. Teachers shape our children’s future; we must fight to support them. Together we stand against Trump’s plan to dismantle public education.
This is a disgrace to American values. While Ukrainians fight for democracy, this administration has emboldened our enemies and weakened our security. This betrayal undermines everything we stand for and will only fuel more invasions and bloodshed by ruthless dictators.
BREAKING: President Donald Trump ordered a pause to all military aid to Ukraine.
I see the hard work that our federal employees do every day. Nearly 643,000 of those federal employees are veterans, who chose to keep serving their country. Over 6,000 veterans have now lost their jobs. I stand with our workers & will continue to fight these unlawful attacks.
This is wrong. Americans want government to bring costs down—not help giant corporations get away with scamming people.
Trump's CFPB just dropped its lawsuits against: -Capital One, for cheating depositors out of $2B+ in interest -Rocket Homes, for providing kickbacks to agents and brokers -Vanderbilt Mortgage, for trapping customers in risky loans  It's open season for corporate crooks.
Elon Musk is fighting to cut more than $880 billion to Medicaid. This will kick millions off their coverage and cut services for children, people with disabilities, and seniors. Call your elected leaders. Let them know they must fight back against.
Cutting off humanitarian aid to Gaza is not a responsible negotiating tactic—it is already resulting in more hunger, especially for children. Both Israel and Hamas need to return to the negotiating table alongside ongoing delivery of aid, or any path to peace is at risk.
Republicans are walking away from negotiations to fund the government and raising the risk of a shutdown so they can keep trying to take away health insurance for children to give tax cuts to billionaires.   Read my full statement with @murray.senate.gov:
I'm proud to stand with @sylviagarcia.house.gov in supporting the American Dream and Promise Act. Hard-working Dreamers strengthen our communities, fuel our economy, and deserve a pathway to citizenship. #HomeIsHere
🚨The Trump Admin’s gag order on public health agencies is worsening the ongoing bird flu outbreak. I'm demanding action, with 84 of my Democratic colleagues—H5N1 won’t stop for political games. Trump must lift the gag, restore collaboration, & stop risking another pandemic.
