Congratulations to our Congressional Art Competition winner — Mariia of Abington Senior High!   Mariia’s piece “The Recital” will proudly represent PA-04 in the Capitol. And congrats to our runners-up: Abigail & McKenzy also of Abington! A beautiful evening to recognize these young artists. 🎨
As we prepare for an historic summer, I was delighted to kick off Philadelphia 250. ❤️💙 We are lucky to live so close to the birthplace of American democracy. May it serve as a constant reminder of our duty to preserve it. (Seeing Swoop and Franklin was a phantastic bonus!)
Nurses give us the best care when we are at our worst. Yet, their safety is not guaranteed at work. I’m grateful to the work of Guardian Nurses as we advocate for stronger protections. My Save Healthcare Workers Act to make it a federal crime to knowingly assault hospital workers.
Today is Star Wars Day. The saga reminds us that fear and lies only pull us toward the abyss. In Star Wars: Andor, their message rings true today— leaders have a responsibility to tell the truth and choose integrity over manipulation.
Our students are our future, and I was delighted to welcome Plymouth Meeting Friends School to learn how policymaking works. Thank you for your thoughtful legislative ideas and real optimism for our country. You give me such hope!
1 in 8 women in the U.S. will face breast cancer in their lifetime. For 40 years, Susan G. Komen has turned those stories into research, resources, and real support. Thankful to meet with their powerful advocates in the fight to end this cruel disease for every woman and man.
The Hunger Free Pennsylvania coalition, including our local Share Food Program and Philabundance, address our most basic need for nutrition and nourishment. I’m grateful for their visit to D.C. as we work to protect SNAP for our most vulnerable, including kids, seniors, and veterans.
40 years since the tragic Challenger Space Shuttle explosion — and in the aftermath of immense loss, Challenger Learning Centers have served as a living memorial. I am thrilled to have secured federal support for Montgomery County Community College's Pottstown campus for students to explore space.
This week I pressed the Commerce Secretary on Epstein and on unlawful tariffs. What became clear is that this administration isn’t addressing Americans’ concerns — only scrambling to manage the fallout from its own actions.
Clean air, pure water, and the preservation of our natural resources are rights guaranteed to Pennsylvanians in our Constitution. Let this Earth Day be a reminder of our obligation to protect the environment for “generations yet to come.” 🌎
I am sick over the shooting in Louisiana — eight precious children murdered by someone who should have protected them. Today also marks 27 years since Columbine, and in its long, dark shadow, our country has had to absorb senseless, depraved mass shootings — outside and inside homes.
