“I work hard, and I’m trying to survive and do it the right way and pay my way,” explained Chrissy from PA, who relies on Pennie for health care coverage.
She is just one of 24 million Americans who are going to see their premiums skyrocket if congressional Republicans don’t act NOW.

As I said when I rallied with @phillyaflcio.bsky.social and AFGE - the only way to end this federal shutdown, paying ALL federal employees and contractors, and end the looming shutdown of health care for millions is for congressional Republicans to work with Democrats!
Today is supposed to be payday for many federal workers. But thanks to the #GOPShutdown, nearly 1.4 million civilian employees across the country are going without pay.

Why is Speaker Johnson STILL waiting to swear in Rep.-elect Grijalva, the 218th and final signer needed to force a vote on the #EpsteinFiles?
What is in them? Who is he protecting?? Why is he denying a voice in Congress to over 800,000 Americans in Arizona?
Pennsylvanians are already feeling the effects of this government shutdown and the looming health care crisis.
Pennsylvania House Democrats stand united in calling on the Speaker to end House Republicans' paid vacation and bring us all back to work in DC. Why won't PA Republicans join us?
Let’s be clear- this is Trump’s economy.
While he promised to lower prices on Day One, it’s been over 9 months and his reckless policies are making everything from groceries to gas more expensive.
So Trump will meet with China’s president halfway across the world, BUT he can’t be bothered to negotiate with leaders of Congress to end the twin shutdowns of federal services and of health care for 24 million Americans.
Almost 500,000 Philadelphians, who rely on SNAP to put healthy food on the table, will see their benefits come to a halt at the end of the month.
This is yet another reason House Republicans need to end their 34-day paid vacation and get back to work in Washington.
This column by @jenicearmstrong.bsky.social is a wonderful remembrance of a great African American journalist in Philadelphia. May Michael Days Rest in Power.
Smart analysis from Philly-area native @pkcapitol.bsky.social on House Republican failures on the shutdown and health care:
24 million Americans are about to see a shutdown of their health care.
2 million Pennsylvanians are about to lose their SNAP benefits.
Federal workers are missing their paychecks.
But right now- “the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”

Americans just want to be able to afford their health care and put food on the table.
Meanwhile Trump is demolishing the White House to build a ballroom, signing some merch, and giving a $20 billion bailout to his right-wing crony in Argentina.

'Keeping lawmakers in Washington until the job is done'?
Another example of a bill that won't get a hearing or a vote while Republicans keep the House closed for their 33-day paid vacation during this #GOPShutdown.
