Six years ago, we lost a titan, a champion for the voiceless, the Conscience of Congress, and my dear friend and personal hero- John Lewis.
Today and every day, let us follow in his footsteps. As he once said: “Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”

Hey Trump, while you’re at it, why don’t you release all of the Epstein files!
Our country is in a cost-of-living crisis, from the gas pump to the grocery store to the doctor's office to buying a home or affording rent.
Rather than tackling this crisis, the president is trying to distract Americans from the fact that his war and his tariff-taxes created it.
We should be honoring our veterans’ service, not gutting their EARNED benefits. We need to pass the bipartisan Major Richard Star Act, not this garbage. (2/2)
The House GOP tried to enact the largest cut to veterans’ benefits, but thanks to Democrats' unified efforts, they were forced to cancel a vote on this bill. (1/2)
NEW: In less than a year, over 200,000 Pennsylvanians have lost access to SNAP food assistance thanks to Trump’s Big Ugly Law.
200,000 Pennsylvanians are struggling to put food on the table, just so a couple of hundred billionaires could get another tax break.
This bill would spend billions MORE taxpayer dollars on Trump’s war of choice - but nothing to address the high cost of living.
Congressional Republicans have made it crystal clear they would rather keep rubberstamping Trump’s backwards agenda than support American families.
The Trump-Vance administration’s continued attempts to whitewash and censor America’s history are disgustingly shameful.
Here in Philly, we learn from our nation’s shared history, not sanitized versions of it. I commend Mayor Parker for pushing forward in this legal fight.
$56,400,000,000. Over $475 per household. That’s how much more Americans have paid for gas thanks to Trump’s illegal war of choice.
And as Trump says: “Not even a little bit…. I don't think about Americans’ financial situation.”
In less than a week, two more unarmed people have been killed by Trump’s out-of-control ICE.
This is the cost of GOP majorities in Congress sending billions of taxpayer dollars to this rogue agency with no guardrails or oversight.
Enough! We need real accountability and reforms NOW.
Once again, it is clear President Trump has no real end game or strategy.
As he continues dragging our country into another ill-conceived forever war, Americans will continue paying the price.
Over half of Americans are struggling to afford groceries and gas.
Meanwhile, this week, House Republicans are trying to jam through an extremist budget that spends hundreds of billions of tax dollars on the same illegal war of choice that is raising prices in the first place.
It was a pleasure to welcome @governor.pa.gov, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, and a bipartisan Congressional delegation to Philadelphia last week as we celebrated our democracy where it began, and the 250 years of hard-fought progress we have seen since!
“We were expecting this to hurt. We were expecting people to lose care and to have less care and lives to be shortened as a result.”
This is the reality of Trump’s big ugly tax cut- while the rich get richer, more working Americans are going to get sicker.

158 years ago, the 14th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing birthright citizenship, equal protection, and due process.
As these rights are under siege by this president, GOP-controlled Congress, and Supreme Court extremists, we must continue fighting to protect this backbone of our democracy.
Donald Trump and congressional Republicans have had every opportunity to extend these critical tax credits. They STILL choose not to.
They are responsible for this health care affordability crisis.
This is the reality of one year under Trump’s big ugly tax cut for the wealthiest.
And exactly why Democrats in Congress are fighting to reverse it.
Not only has the Trump-Vance administration rolled back gun safety measures, but they are gutting funding from programs that prevent gun violence.
We need to be using every tool in the toolbox to save lives- NOT playing political games with public safety. Our communities deserve better.
