In Philadelphia and beyond, affordable health insurance is now out of reach for many Americans. No one should have to choose between a trip to the doctor’s office and paying their bills. But this is the reality of the GOP-created health care crisis.
At the same time, in the last year, Donald Trump and his family have raked in over $2,000,000,000. Trump is building an economy that works for him and his billionaire buddies — not for you.
Another month, another abysmal jobs report. Trump's priorities have never included creating jobs or putting money back in your pockets. He only cares about what’s in it for him.
Today, as we celebrate how far our country has come in two and a half centuries, let us also recommit to the everlasting fight to create a more perfect union. As John Lewis, my friend, colleague, and personal hero, once said: “Democracy is not a state. It is an act.” (2/2)

Tomorrow marks one year of millions of Americans losing access to their health care and food assistance just so Trump could give another tax cut to billionaires. While the GOP celebrates, House Democrats are fighting to restore this critical funding and undo these tax breaks.
This court just allowed the wealthiest and biggest corporations to funnel even more money into our elections.   Money is money- not speech. It is far past time we pass a constitutional amendment to wipe away the egregious Citizens United ruling that laid the foundation for this decision.
Voting by mail is safe, secure, and used by millions of Americans (including Donald Trump). This common-sense decision is a win for voting rights! As Trump and many congressional Republicans continue to try and rig our elections, this fight to protect the right to vote is far from over.
