This week, I joined @ramirez.house.gov and my Democratic colleagues in demanding public hearings on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's blatant abuses of power and assaults on Americans' constitutional rights.

I won't stop fighting to restore #Roe and to protect the health, privacy, dignity, and freedom of women and families in #TX07 and across the country. 2/2
53 years ago today, the Supreme Court issued its opinion in Roe v. Wade. I'm proud that it was Texas women who brought this case and fought it all the way to the Supreme Court. 1/2
It's like presidential Mad Libs: If T͟r͟u͟m͟p͟ can't have a N͟o͟b͟e͟l͟ P͟e͟a͟c͟e͟ P͟r͟i͟z͟e͟, he will accept one from M͟a͟r͟í͟a͟ C͟o͟r͟i͟n͟a͟ M͟a͟c͟h͟a͟d͟o͟ and seize G͟r͟e͟e͟n͟l͟a͟n͟d͟.
But it is as serious and damaging as it is absurd.

Deeply unhinged, petty & embarrassing.
Trump is turning the US into a pariah & doing real, lasting damage to the NATO alliance and our global partnerships—all based on personal grievance. Republicans must stop enabling this wannabe king and join Democrats to put a check on him before it’s too late.

After pushing back against the Trump administration’s move to slash $2 billion in addiction and mental health grants, HHS said they will reverse course & restore funding.
This reversal is a win for behavioral health care & will prevent needless suffering. But these cuts should never have happened.
I'm glad to report that this legislation just passed out of the @energycommerce.bsky.social Communications and Technology Subcommittee. (3/3)
Satellite alerting technology has the potential to close dangerous gaps in our emergency communications system, which is why I worked with Congressman August Pfluger and our colleagues to introduce a bill that encourages the adoption of this technology. (2/3)
🧵 No one should miss a life-saving emergency alert because they do not have cellular service. (1/3)
This is what real leadership looks like, serving the American people, not the President's agenda.

Today, I voted no on the Financial Services and State Department funding bill because, despite important work from House Democrats, it fails to meet the moment and to respond to the Trump administration’s many abuses.

Big day today, as the @houstontexans.bsky.social head north to begin their playoff run! Let's win this! #HTownMade
A sad day for the United States of America. Choosing to isolate Americans and and removing the U.S. from positions of international leadership. Who does this serve? Certainly not Americans.
From NYT: An analysis of footage from three camera angles show that the vehicle appears to be turning away from a federal officer as he opened fire.

In the 15 years since Gabby Giffords was shot in the head while hosting an event at a grocery store in her district, she has turned that tragedy into purpose and a platform to #EndGunViolence.
May all of us take inspiration from her efforts to keep our communities safe.
