I am saddened to learn of the death of Congressman Gerry Connolly. He was a great champion for the people and the promise of our country. My thoughts are with his family, his staff, the people of Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, and all those who are grieving his loss.

If reducing the national debt and deficit spending is really a priority for my Republican colleagues, I urge them to join me in opposing this disastrous budget plan which will increase deficit spending by more than $2.5 trillion while taking away health care from nearly 14 million Americans.
Oversight is necessary. Dissent is fundamentally American. These charges are neither, and they should be dismissed. [3/3]
It is an escalation of deeply troubling actions this administration has taken to intimidate members of the legislative and judicial branches of government for conducting oversight or expressing dissent from its policies and actions. [2/3]

Wonder why 👀

@repfletcher.bsky.social "This budget begs the question, 'who are we?' What kind of society do we want to be? And today, the House Republicans' answer in this bill is that we want to be one that takes away health care from people like Ricky, to give tax cuts to people like Elon Musk."
