There is no chance that I'll be voting for the DHS appropriations bill that includes funding for ICE. Congress should be easing pathways to citizenship and impeaching Trump and Kristi Noem, not bolstering an undemocratic and rogue agency that targets our communities.
In December, Trump came to NC to boast about his economic record. Now, his report card is out and it paints a clear picture: from tariffs to the Big, Ugly Bill, Trump's economy is hurting working families in our state.
I was pleased to join Book Harvest NC's MLK Day Book Drive to support children's literacy and raise awareness about how local organizations and libraries are helping to bridge literacy gaps. Our children are our future and supporting their education has to be at the forefront of everything we do.
It was great to join community events across #NC04 to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King's vision for a just and equal society remains a guiding light for all of us. We must continue to honor his legacy by working towards a more perfect union every day.
Today, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor the life, legacy, and teachings of Dr. King and his unwavering fight for justice and equality. His work continues to inspire and guide us every single day in pushing towards a more free and just country.
Ahead of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I joined the Passmore Center in Hillsborough to celebrate the lasting legacy of Dr. King. His words and values guide our actions as we work to be good stewards and provide meaningful change for our communities.
What ICE is doing in Minnesota and across the country should terrify every single one of us. Impeaching Kristi Noem is just the start, we cannot continue to bolster this rogue agency’s budget or turn a blind eye to its policies that are completely incompatible with democracy.
I am proud to be a cosponsor of the bill introduced by @congressmanraja.bsky.social and @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social. There is no reason we should be trying to occupy or run Venezuela. Our government needs to be focused on lowering the cost of housing and healthcare, not another war abroad.
I’m introducing the NOVA Act to block any taxpayer-funded occupation of Venezuela and stop U.S. tax dollars from subsidizing oil companies there. Congress has not authorized “running” Venezuela, and American families shouldn’t be forced to pay for it.
Today, I joined @robinkelly.house.gov in introducing Articles of Impeachment against DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. From warrantless raids to the tragic use of force against U.S. citizens and immigrants, Noem’s reckless actions demand accountability. Congress must remove her from office immediately.
I'm proud to celebrate 113 years of Delta Sigma Theta with my fellow sorors here in Washington! Happy Founders Day @dstinc1913.bsky.social, and let us continue the lasting legacy of our founders through sisterhood, social action, and service.
I have cosponsored @robinkelly.house.gov's Articles of Impeachment against DHS Secretary Noem. This is the minimum Congress should be doing to protect our communities—we cannot allow ICE’s reign of terror to continue.
I’m grateful for the courage and dedication of the Crew-11 astronauts as they return early from their mission on the ISS. Thank you to NASA for prioritizing their health and safety. Wishing the crew a safe journey home and a full recovery. www.npr.org/2026/01/08/n...
Kristi Noem’s reckless, militarized actions have made communities across our country more dangerous, not safer. The fatal shooting in Minneapolis and other incidents show what happens when force is prioritized over human life. Enough is enough. She must resign or be removed from office immediately.
I was proud to vote in favor of this bill with @housedemocrats.bsky.social to deliver for working families and restore the tax credits that help our communities access quality, affordable healthcare. The Senate needs to get this to the President's desk now. The American people can't wait.
House Democrats’ bill to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits has PASSED!  Health care costs have skyrocketed for millions of families and this legislation will help bring costs down.  This is a win for the American people.
Let me be clear: the funding levels are lower than I would've liked to see in order to fully address the needs of our communities, but they are a drastic improvement on Trump's budget request and rejects the illegal reorganization of the Department of Energy and proposed cuts to NSF and the NOAA.
