I’m honored to be named Co-Chair of the
@housedemocrats.bsky.social Commission on AI alongside Rep. Lieu and Rep. Gottheimer.
Trump and Republicans haven't met the moment in developing AI policy that safeguards jobs and civil rights—but we're ready to do just that.

As co-chair of the new House Democratic Commission on AI, New Dem AI Task Force Chair @foushee.house.gov is bringing her expertise to the forefront of Congress' efforts to responsibly spur innovation, grow our economy and protect the American people.

On this day in 1865, the 13th amendment was ratified, formally ending slavery in the United States.
Today, we remember this first step in the long fight for equality, and we must continue to reject every attempt to erase this shameful chapter of American history.
70 years ago today, the Montgomery Bus Boycott began, a powerful and peaceful protest which was a foundational event for the civil rights movement.
We honor this historic moment by continuing the fight for true justice for all, today and every day.

Thanks to @foushee.house.gov Hillsborough will receive $1mil to replace the chlorine gas disinfection system at our water treatment plant with a less hazardous system.

The SSEP and Mountain Valley Pipeline Southgate project’s developer has shown disregard for environmental and safety regulations, endangering those communities further.
I joined @bobbyscott.house.gov and @foushee.house.gov to demand that FERC review the impacts of these projects before advancing.
It was a pleasure to see so many students in #NC04 participating in this year's Congressional App Challenge!
Thank you to the families and students who joined my awards reception, and congratulations to this year’s winners. I can’t wait to see how far this next generation of STEM leaders can go!
By eliminating hazards associated with chlorine gas, this project will improve public safety in our community.
I'm proud to have helped secure this funding, and I won't stop working to ensure families have access to safe, reliable water. (3/3)
The funding will be used to convert the facility from a chlorine disinfection system to a safer sodium hypochlorite system.
Chlorine gas is acutely toxic and the accidental release of the gas at a treatment plant could place staff and local neighborhoods in danger within minutes. (2/3)
🚨 BIG NEWS: My Community Project Funding request for Hillsborough's Water Treatment Facility was included in the FY26 Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration Appropriations Act. (1/3)
During my remarks as Ranking Member of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee, I compared China's growing space science plans to Trump's continued attempts to cut NASA funding.
For all the administration's talk of maintaining leadership in space, this clearly isn't a winning strategy.
@ncgovernor.bsky.social is right. DHS continues to sweep our communities while detaining citizens and people with no prior convictions.
Fatima’s story is one of many here in North Carolina. This administration must answer for these inhumane attempts to sow fear across our communities.
Rising healthcare costs are hurting working families in North Carolina.
Our state deserves better.
I will never stop fighting to protect the ACA, expand Medicare and Medicaid coverage, and ensure that every American has access to the quality, affordable healthcare they need.
Republicans in DC are headed towards another shutdown while Republicans in North Carolina are focused on silencing American history, past and present.
The NC GOP should focus on finally passing a state budget instead of this harmful fearmongering and attempts to whitewash our school curriculums.
@bobbyscott.house.gov, @mcclellan.house.gov and I wrote to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission demanding an environmental report or termination of these projects to protect our communities. (2/2)
Despite pushback from communities and officials in North Carolina and Virginia, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission continues to fast-track approvals for pipeline projects without regard for its environmental impacts. (1/2)
If this report is true, Pete Hegseth has violated international law by ordering the killing of surviving crew members after a strike in international waters.
Hegseth must testify under oath immediately. He is a security threat and Americans deserve the truth.

Today is #SmallBusinessSaturday! Show our local communities and small businesses in #NC04 the support they deserve by shopping small today and every day.
The end of DOGE won't bring back the thousands of jobs which were stripped from hardworking Americans in my district.
I spoke to NOTUS to share more about the toll that Trump's senseless job cuts are taking on communities in the Triangle region.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
