Inflated commissary prices often force people in federal custody to be charged more for basic necessities, simply because they have no other place to buy them. I'm introducing the Stop Prison Price Gouging Act to ensure that prison commissaries are not used for profiteering.
Speeding contributed to nearly 30% of traffic fatalities in 2024. One proven solution is the use of intelligent speed assistance (ISA) programs for repeat & "super speeders." We commend @foushee.house.gov for introducing this bill & urge Congress to enact it: foushee.house.gov/media/press-...
People who drive far above the speed limit put every single person around them at risk. People should be able to walk, bike, or cross the street without fearing that a reckless driver could change their lives forever.
"The News/Media Alliance thanks Rep. Lee and Rep. Foushee for their commitment to keeping the internet clean, & look forward to working w/them and their colleagues in both the House and the Senate to pass this critical piece of legislation." www.newsmediaalliance.org/stealth-bot-...
I am strongly against insider trading, but this week I voted against the so-called Stop Insider Trading Act because it doesn't prevent Congressmembers from owning or selling stocks and also exempts the President from any insider trading restrictions.
I asked Trump’s science advisor if the non-binding “ratepayer protection pledge” has helped with rising energy costs due to data centers. He gave me 3 different answers. I’ll let you decide if you believe this Administration cares about rising utility costs due to data centers.
Today, I voted no on the GOP's budget resolution that wastes tens of billions of taxpayer dollars on Trump's wars abroad through reconciliation. This bill sets the stage for more wasteful spending without addressing the cost-of-living in any way. Read my full statement.
The defense budget also includes the GOP's voter disenfranchisement bill, the so-called Save America Act, as well as Section 219, which expands defense cooperation with Israel. These are policy riders that I cannot support. The Senate must reject this legislation immediately.
