I voted against this year’s NDAA because it authorizes excessive military spending and attacks transgender servicemembers. It's tiring to hear that Medicare for All is too expensive while the GOP approves $1.1 trillion in military spending. That money should go to our communities.
Republicans are planning to jam a budget resolution through the House to further bankroll Trump's wars and force passage of the SAVE America Act. While costs are rising, the GOP is focused on funding the killing of innocent people and disenfranchising Americans. I'm voting NO.
Picking up from where @dangaristo.bsky.social left off - Rep Foshee asking about electricity and the ratepayer protection pledge is genuine or smoke and mirrors due to the impact of data centers. Kratsios - The pledge is the most concequetial of his term when it comes to AI made a commitment to...
With months before government funding was set to expire, Republicans chose to ignore any bipartisan negotiations or long-term funding efforts in favor of forcing through their extreme agenda. This is not how Congress should function and the American people deserve better.
Last night, I voted against the Republican Continuing Resolution that allows for the transfer of federal funds to immigration enforcement agencies. These short-term, partisan funding packages are wholly insufficient in bringing proper support to our communities.
Trump is wasting taxpayer dollars on pay-outs to energy corporations because he thinks wind turbines are a 'national security risk'. @ross.house.gov, @adams.house.gov and I are investigating Trump's settlement with Duke Energy to halt offshore wind projects. www.newsobserver.com/news/politic...
The rise of AI cannot mean that it is being used to make decisions of lethal military force. I'm proud to be an original cosponsor the Human Authority over Autonomous Weapons Act to ensure that weapons systems always have a human decision-maker in control. www.axios.com/2026/07/17/b...
I spoke to @535news.bsky.social about introducing the GUARD Act to regulate AI chatbots. As I shared in this interview, I am hearing directly from families who have lost their children after interactions with these chatbots—Congress must take action immediately.
Today, I voted in favor of Rep. Massie’s amendment to cut military aid to Israel. However, I voted against the foreign affairs funding bill which includes harmful riders, including the SAVE Act, & weakens our ability to lead through diplomacy & protect our national security. Read my full statement.
Students across the country are struggling with higher housing costs with little support from the federal government. I’m introducing the Grad Student Affordable Housing Act to establish a federal program to cover 80% of eligible students’ rent costs.
