Thanks to Chief Mori for all he's done for our community. His leadership helped the Vancouver PD fit growing needs of the city and effectively protect and serve.
I hope he's having a wonderful retirement, and I know his impact will remain in our community for years to come. #NationalPoliceWeek

#HappyMothersDay to moms across Southwest Washington!
Your patience, resilience, and grit make our communities and young people better off.
Hope you have a restful, joyful day – and I’ll keep fighting to get you the support you deserve.
There's a quote on the I-5 Bridge, and it encapsulates the power of building things that last, matter, and are a reflection of our values.
There's tremendous pride, culture, and heritage in the trades in Southwest Washington – and it's reflected in the built environment around us.
Our postal service is a public asset those who came before us worked hard to build & steward.
Along with my colleagues, I urged the Admin to avoid the grave mistake of parceling out the USPS to the private sector – which would raise delivery costs and undermine the hard work of our postal workers.
Timely, reliable mail delivery can be a lifeline for folks, especially in rural communities.
We need to ensure the USPS is on better fiscal footing, but it can't come at the cost of hollowing out rural delivery. ⬇️
Kia Boyz serve as an example that tech advances shouldn't come at the cost of security.
Thieves have targeted USPS workers for master keys that let them steal masses of mail at once.
As the USPS considers a transition to digital keys, it's critical we protect your identities & prescription drugs.
Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek!
It's been a joy meeting educators all across Southwest Washington – and their care and dedication ensures our kids have bright futures. Be sure to thank a teacher!
Making gov't more effective means listening to growers about commonsense ways to cut red tape – not making their work harder by randomly cutting civil servants.
I urged Ag Sec. Rollins to focus on empowering small producers to sell food locally & stand up to consolidation. Family farmers need hope.
Bill Draper has shaped the lives of countless students during his time at Cascadia Tech.
He passed on skills to the next generation of doers and makers that a typical classroom can’t provide.
Thank you, Bill, for all you’ve done for our community.

Thank you to Mikhail for sharing your experiences on the ground in Ukraine.
We need to continue standing firm against Putin's unprovoked invasion, which has deeply affected Ukrainian families in Southwest Washington.
I've heard your concerns about IRS phone wait times, as well as how we can direct auditing resources toward high-dollar tax evasion, not mom-and-pop businesses doing their best to navigate red tape.
I pressed Treasury Sec. Bessent on these issues, and it's critical we see real plans to get there.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to my 14th and 15th town halls in Centralia and Vancouver!
I'm committed to showing up, in person, because hearing from you and reflecting the wide-ranging voices of folks across our entire district is something I take incredibly seriously.
Folks in Southwest Washington want time with their families, things that last, and respect for their work and experiences.
I joined @ezraklein.bsky.social to talk about how we can build economic agency and a more level playing field:
To build up our timber communities, we need to keep our woods working and support independent mills, logging, and trucking.
Thanks to Pacific Fibre for giving me a tour of their Longview plant, where they manufacture wood chips, bark, and soil.
Last week, I met with students in automotive, construction, welding, and culinary courses at Kelso High School.
They're learning skills that'll last a lifetime, and it was an inspiration to see the pride they take in their work.
When it comes to supporting the trades, we can't bend the knee to politics.
What we believe in is too necessary and urgent to become another political football – and what we build is the manifestation of our nation's values.
Last year, I brought home funds for public grain loading and storage at the Port of Chehalis, as well as to support the Regional Ag Business and Innovation Park in Tenino.
With it being harder to run a family farm, it's critical our farmers have local infrastructure to keep their products moving.
Strong regional ag supply chains benefit our farmers, rural economies, & folks looking to buy local & high-quality.
McPhee’s Butcher Block opened in response to a lack of meat processing options in the area, & I visited to hear about their work & how we can strengthen small businesses like theirs.
When we invest in housing an infrastructure that can last for generations, we're investing in the building trades. It's something that rises above politics.
So glad I could meet incredibly hardworking union members from across our state and share how I'm fighting for them in Congress.
Regardless of whether our Congress is controlled by Republicans or by Democrats, it's my job to fight for the urgent needs of #WA03 communities.
It's why I vote on bills based on their merits, not based on which party sponsors them.
