Since the Supreme Court's disastrous Dobbs decision, we've seen the dire consequences of limited access to reproductive and emergency care.
We must continue the fight to preserve reproductive freedom & work to ensure all health care services - including abortion - are accessible to every American.
Trump promised he'd make America "safer and stronger than it has ever been before" yet his Administration is purging agencies that combat natural disasters, cybersecurity threats, and violent extremism.
Join @democrats-appropriations.house.gov as we ensure Americans aren't left vulnerable:
I am glad to share that the Maryland SUN Bucks program has returned for Summer 2025!
I commend the Maryland Department of Human Services for their work to ensure our children in #MD05 and throughout the state don't go hungry.
Check your family's eligibility + enroll today:
Republicans are making historic cuts to critical food assistance programs that puts food on the table for millions of families and supports local farmers.
Tune in as @democrats-appropriations.house.gov continue working to strengthen food security in our communities:
While the Trump Administration continues to waste government funds and abuse executive power, Republicans are jamming through a bill that diminishes the power of a coequal branch of government.
Watch @democrats-appropriations.house.gov fight back at 6:00 tonight:
This week, Marylanders will experience record temperatures as a heat wave intensifies along the East Coast.
I urge all in the #MD05 region to pay attention to weather updates and continue taking precautions to stay safe & keep cool during this heat wave:

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @algreen.house.gov pays tribute to the great American holiday of Juneteenth.
160 years ago, enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, TX, heard freedom's ring. Their triumph reminds us of Opal Lee's wise words: ‘We have simply got to make people aware that none of us are free until we’re all free.’
Happy Freedom Day, MD-05!
I joined doctors, hospital leadership, and health care experts at Calvert Health to discuss the impact of the Medicaid and health care cuts in Congressional Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill. This legislation will explode the deficit and jeopardize care for millions of Americans.
Trump and House GOP’s cuts to SNAP will leave many of our nation’s poorest families with nowhere to turn. I want to thank the Bowie Interfaith Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund for serving vulnerable families in MD-05.
To all the dads out there — your positive example has blessed your family and helped build strong children.
Being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather are my proudest titles. Happy Father's Day!
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes!
I enjoyed spending another birthday with my loved ones, and I look forward to another great year of serving #MD05.
I am devastated by the politically motivated attack on Minnesota lawmakers, Rep. Hortman & her husband Mark & Sen. John Hoffman & his wife, Yvette.
Public servants ought to be able to serve the American people without fear for their safety or lives. I send my deepest condolences to their families.

Republicans just voted to revoke funding passed by Congress for foreign aid and public broadcasting networks that keep millions safe and informed.
We must not let the Trump Administration continues its attack on the free press and foment chaos, crisis, and absurdity at home and abroad.
Despite promising to make life more affordable, the Trump Administration is pushing devastating cuts to health care and food assistance.
Doing so represents a harmful betrayal to the Americans who use SNAP and food assistance to feed their kids and get back on their feet.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, Caucus Chair @aguilar.house.gov speaks out against the out of control Trump Administration detaining Senator Alex Padilla and preventing him from asking questions on behalf of the people he represents.
The treatment of @padilla.senate.gov while he was conducting Congressional oversight – one of the many responsibilities that millions of Californians elected him to fulfill - is a disgusting abuse of power and an assault on our democracy.
Congratulations to our #MD05 students who have received appointments to a U.S. Service Academy this year.
These students embody the character we expect from our men and women in uniform, and I wish them the best of luck in their future military careers.
