I met Espinoza at the Northwest Detention Center.
She was kidnapped from her job. She spent what should have been her wedding day in detention.
She was working, contributing to our community, and is now married to a US citizen. This is who ICE is targeting. www.kuow.org/stories/she-...
I stood with faith leaders of all different religions to demand that SNAP funding be fully restored — because feeding the hungry is a moral obligation.
There are no red states or blue states when it comes to hunger. There are just people who want to keep their children fed.
ICYMI: As millions of Americans wonder how they’ll keep food on the table, Trump spent the weekend throwing himself a lavish Great Gatsby party at Mar-A-Lago.
The party theme was "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody.” While a party might not, his cuts to SNAP could. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...
Let me be very clear: Donald Trump deliberately chose to stop SNAP benefits from flowing to 42 million hungry Americans.
And this is after he and Republicans cut $186 billion from SNAP in their Big Bad Betrayal Bill.
They are simply abandoning hungry American families.
There should not be hunger in the richest country on the planet. But when there is hunger, we have a moral obligation to feed those who are hungry.
That’s why my staff and I joined Community Lunch on Capitol Hill today to provide those struggling from Trump's SNAP cuts with hot meals.
Trump deported a victim of domestic violence who was seeking refuge in the US. When she got off the plane, her husband was standing in the airport, waiting for her.
She is once again stuck with her abuser, thanks to Trump and his admin. www.latimes.com/california/s...
“[SNAP] should come back and it should keep helping people.”
I met M. Lourdes in Seattle today. She relies on SNAP to keep food on the table. Thanks to Trump’s cuts and the Republican Shutdown, she isn’t getting that help.
This story is far too common. SNAP must be fully restored.
A crypto billionaire pled guilty to money laundering.
Trump then pardoned him, but said "I know nothing about the guy" and that he has "no idea who he is."
Is he lying or clueless? www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
This is a very temporary band-aid from the Trump admin.
42 million hardworking Americans are trying to figure out how they will keep food on the table. Partial is not good enough. End this Republican shutdown now so we can fully fund SNAP. apnews.com/article/snap...
The images coming out of Sudan have been absolutely horrifying as the RSF continues committing acts of genocide against civilians.
This brutality must stop, and those fueling this violence must be held responsible.

The immigration system is a civil system, not a criminal one. But this administration isn’t treating it that way, and they’re militarizing our communities and terrorizing people of all statuses in the process.
We are one month into the shutdown, and we are seeing delays, ground stops, and overall turmoil at airports across the country.
Republicans must open the government to ensure safety and to get air traffic controllers and other federal workers their paychecks.

My shadow hearings are how we can conduct oversight on Trump’s horrifying immigration actions.
We can and must continue shining a light on this lawlessness.

Today marks a full month of the Republican shutdown.
It’s time for them to end their vacation and get back to work for the American people.

We are officially one month into the Republican shutdown.
Republicans must come to the table and end this. It’s time to cancel the cuts, lower health care costs, and get federal workers their well-earned paychecks.
NEW POD: @workingfamilies.org Party National Director @mauricewfp.bsky.social joined me to talk about fighting for all Americans, how to effectively organize in 2025, and where the progressive movement is headed.

Week five of the Republican shutdown, SNAP funding hanging in the balance, and Congressional oversight on ICE. Here’s my weekly three good things and three bad things.
Thank you to the City of Seattle for joining our resource fair for federal workers.
It is so important that our community comes together in this moment to rally around workers who did not ask for this and are waiting for their next paycheck.
