We've filed the motion to discharge our resolution so new parents can vote in the House! Speaker Johnson is trying to buy Members' votes or intimidate them into backing out, but we're staying strong.
Our service members should have access to the same level of IVF coverage as Members of Congress. That's why @duckworth.senate.gov and I introduced the IVF for Military Families Act. Trump calls himself the "Fertilization President" – if that's true, he should support our bill.
Visibility matters. Representation matters. Dignity matters. Equality matters.
Today and every day, I will celebrate the trans community and all their accomplishments and work until they have true equality. #TDOV
Reminder: Please join Rep. Juan Vargas, Jewish Family Service, and me on Zoom tomorrow, 4/1 at 4pm pacific time for a Know Your Rights virtual training.

Today, I’m proud to re-introduce my resolution to recognize Trans Day of Visibility. It’s been a joy to watch my trans brother and gender non-conforming sibling live authentically and happily as themselves. I will always fight for a world in which every trans person has that right.
Calling all CA-51 high school artists: submit your work to the Congressional Art Competition for a chance to have your art hung in the US Capitol!
The deadline is April 21st. For more details on submission: sarajacobs.house.gov/services/art...
No matter your immigration status, you need to know what your rights are.
Join me, Rep. Juan Vargas, and Jewish Family Service on Tuesday, 4/1 at 4pm Pacific Time for a Know Your Rights virtual training on Zoom. RSVP: tinyurl.com/SDrights
Trans kids, like ALL kids, deserve to feel safe and free to be themselves at school. Forced outing puts vulnerable kids at even more risk.
Furthermore, holding federal tax dollars for schools hostage over a CA state law is a complete overreach by the Trump Admin.
Imagine what our community would look like if parents didn’t have to spend more than $2,000 a month on infant care? If they could invest in retirement or start a new business instead?
The system is failing families, providers, and kids. We need universal child care now.
The tariff roller coaster continues: Trump is about to put new 25% import taxes on cars and car parts, starting next week.
Need a new car? The Trump tax will run you an extra $4,000 to $15,000.
Plainclothes and masked officers surrounded Rumeysa Ozturk and pulled her off the street before they even showed a badge. She was flown to Louisiana without getting to speak with a lawyer.
Due process is a bedrock right. If they can do this to her, they can do this to you.
Learn how to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. EVERYONE living or traveling in the U.S. has Constitutional rights, regardless of their citizenship status – and you need to know what they are.
Join us for a Know Your Rights virtual training.

Some good news: The Supreme Court upheld background checks for “ghost guns,” which are mail-order kits used to build untraceable (but just as deadly) guns.
With this ruling, the ghost gun loophole remains firmly CLOSED, common sense prevails, and everyone is safer for it.
Climate change is already harming people’s health through fires, storms, diseases, and extreme heat – and it will keep getting worse. Throwing out research won’t change this reality, but it WILL put people in danger and stop doctors and scientists from finding solutions.
I’ve been briefed by federal law enforcement about the operation and arrests in El Cajon today. My team and I will continue looking into this to ensure that everyone involved is afforded their rights and receives due process as mandated by the Constitution.
Why does Secretary Pete Hegseth still have a job? He exposed classified ATTACK PLANS in an unsecure Signal group chat, put our service members in danger, and then LIED about it.
POTUS, it’s time for your favorite catchphrase: YOU’RE FIRED.
There are NO federal protections for your health data that’s used by companies like 23 and Me or period tracking apps. Instead, this personal data can be sold to the highest bidder. That’s why Congress should pass my bill — the “My Body, My Data Act” — to change that.
This is a frightening reminder of why we need comprehensive data privacy laws. HIPAA doesn’t protect consumer data like this – it can be sold to the highest bidder or even shared with law enforcement.
Don’t have a passport? Forgot to renew it? Under Trump’s new executive order, you and about half of all U.S. adults without a valid passport might be barred from voting.
Trump is attacking our election system and making it harder for eligible citizens to vote. This is voter suppression.
Secretary Pete Hegseth, the Situation Room exists for a reason. This is an unbelievable level of incompetence and disregard for our service members whose lives are on the line if classified attack plans are exposed. It’s time to take accountability.
