Our public lands and water are irreplaceable. Cuts that destabilize land stewardship threaten clean water for Millions, put our Great Lakes fisheries and outdoor economies at risk, and undermine decades of work to restore and protect these precious shared resources. Our future depends on action NOW.
Remembered and honored an extraordinary American, Steven Dean Fought. With deepest gratitude on behalf of all Americans, and Ohioans, we recognize the life of an honored, and indefatigable public servant in the truest sense. To know Steve was to know you would never meet his likes again.
BILLIONS are flowing to private detention companies that bankrolled campaigns, which means fewer resources for working families and local communities. When federal dollars reward insiders instead of transparency and fairness, taxpayers pay the price. Not exactly draining the swamp.
A big thank you to Sylvania Schools for the warm welcome at Northview and Southview High Schools! Seeing students hands-on in career-tech programs—building real skills for tomorrow’s workforce—was inspiring. Grateful to the dedicated staff and student tour guides for sharing their time and talents!
Canada is a trade partner, neighbor, and our most important continental ally. We share a secure border and together move Billions of tons of cargo through the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Seaway. Trump's trade tantrums and mistruths risk that hard-won trust and cause irreparable damage with every word.
Robert “Rex” Baumgartner was a true American Patriot. He embodied the very best of our nation—serving in the US Air Force, dedicating 4 decades to the Toledo Police Department and later 15 years with the Lucas County Prosecutor helping seniors. May his example forever inspire all those who knew him.
Sandusky’s Perkins High is showing excellence in STEM education. This year, Kia Preston won the 9th District App Challenge, and a satellite built by the school's robotics club was launched to the Int’l Space Station by NASA. Thanks to great teachers who light the way for these bright young minds.
In NW Ohio and across the country, MILLIONS of families are opening bills where health insurance coverage costs more than their mortgage payment. Middle-class workers wages crawl while premiums triple. This is a cruel choice by the GOP to give Billionaires tax breaks while working Americans suffer.
As winter weather conditions take hold across NW Ohio region and much of the nation—please stay warm, stay off the roads if possible, and beware of hazardous conditions. Thank you to all essential personnel keeping us safe. Please stay tuned to local media and local authorities for further updates.
Funding of these agencies without reform and accountability is directly opposed to what our Founders promised. Kristi Noem must step down and all involved in this tragedy and implementation of the policy that allowed it should be investigated.
Every American has a right to free expression and is protected from excessive use of force by those sworn to protect and serve. The killing of a 37 year old ICU nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Minnesota is heartbreaking and another sign that we are far off course.
America's farmers are hurting—they need every bit of help Congress can deliver. Republican leadership had a chance to authorize year round E15—a commonsense blend of ethanol and gasoline—but they all walked away. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America. Time to shake a leg Mr. Speaker.

Letter Carriers keep our communities connected, reaching every corner of the country.📫 We enjoyed meeting with @lettercarriers.bsky.social President Brian Renfroe to discuss our commitment to continue delivering for letter carriers everywhere.
Today, VP Vance traveled to Toledo, Ohio to talk about the Trump Administration's efforts to grow jobs and return manufacturing to our region. Well, this came as quite a surprise to me, because of decisions by his Administration to rip away $150 Million of investment across NW Ohio.
We fought to extend the ACA credits so people wouldn't die. We were successful, and there is a bill that'll solve the problem for the country. It sits in the Senate—and guess what? They're sitting on it. For the American people listening, one thing you can do to dislodge this bill—call your Senator.
Earlier this week, alongside hundreds of Ohioans, our community celebrated the life and works a Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King with Macedonia Baptist Church in Toledo and its rousing choir. We also welcomed the NAACP's Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, who spoke eloquently of Dr. King's living legacy.
Markets plunged over 2% yesterday as President Trump escalated reckless talk about games Greenland. Billions erased from retirement savings, pensions, your hard earned dollars, stocks and savings take a hit while he toys with American credibility on the world stage. This is destabilizing our nation.
Highlighting transportation and infrastructure priorities for NW Ohio communities I represent along Lake Erie, from Defiance through Toledo to Sandusky and our surrounding rural counties. Transportation and infrastructure is not an abstract concept for our manufacturing and agricultural communities.
