Flyovers also took place at Northwood High School, Anthony Wayne High School, Liberty Center and Liberty-Benson High School and Oak Harbor High Schools. Also honored as Purple Star schools Waterville Primary School, Anthony Wayne High School, Swanton Middle School and R.C. Waters Elementary School.
Friday Night Lights took a different feel tonight as we gathered at Ted Federici Field at Clay Memorial Stadium to honor schools that support our Veteran and Military families. Our valorous 180th Fighter Wing traced the schools honored as Purple Star Schools.
Honored to receive the Biofuels Champion Fueling Growth award from Growth Energy. I will always work with our NW Ohio farmers, producers, and growers to ensure markets for our corn and soy including Biofuels which are clean, safe, and affordable. What America makes and grows, helps to power America.

As Co-Chairs of the Ukraine Caucus, @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social, Rep. Fitzpatrick, Rep. Wilson, and I unequivocally condemn Russia’s reckless and illegal violation of Polish airspace and its ongoing brutal and illegal attacks on Ukraine.
Read our statement here.
You can find more information about our new legislation here:
We are standing up for our communities across America where funding has been approved and contracts signed, but progress and funding have been arbitrarily choked off. I will never stop fighting to return illegally diverted funding to the NW Ohio communities I represent.
As the Article I Branch, Congress and Congress alone has the authority to direct spending through law. Our legislation introduced by @HouseBudgetDems.bsky.social shows a strong united front that we will not roll over and yield this authority to any President.
Today we remember the 2,977 lives lost in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania 24 years ago. On the anniversary of this dark day in our nation’s history I also remember brave first responders who rushed in to the Twin Towers, and Pentagon, and passengers who overtook hijackers. We must #NeverForget.
The shooting of Charlie Kirk in Utah is abhorrent. Political violence is a threat to democracy and must never be normalized. Extremism in America is cause for serious concern. Whether left, right, center, or none of the above, we all need to work together to lower the temperature.
I will use every lever at my disposal to urge the Washington defense apparatus to take this encroachment on sovereign Polish territory seriously. I urge my Republican colleagues and the Trump Administration to stand up and do the same. 3/3
Authoritarian Dictator Vladimir Putin's attack on a NATO nation's soil deserves swift condemnation and a unified response. I stand with the Polish and Ukrainian people. 2/3
🧵 An incursion into Poland by Russia crosses a bright red line, as an attack on one NATO member is an attack on all. As a leader in the Congress on Eastern European affairs, I take any and all threats in this region seriously. 1/3
The GOP cut the ACA, and Medicaid, and Medicare by more than $1 Trillion to give tax breaks to Billionaires causing insurance rates to skyrocket to a 15 year high. Now on top of that, House Appropriations Republicans are trying to cut vital health funds even deeper. Is there no shame?!?!
In 2022, nearly 7 million seniors in America were food insecure. In Ohio alone 130,000 households will lose $96 a month in SNAP benefits because of the Big Ugly Bill. That's $1,100+ a year ripped away from those struggling to get by, including seniors who rely on Social Security to make ends meet.
Reckless tariffs and tax policies continue to wreak havoc in the Great Lakes region where our largest trading partner is Canada. This causes chaos, drives up costs, closes plant, causes strikes, layoffs, and leads to massive job loss. Since January, America has lost 78,000 manufacturing jobs alone.
Great fun enjoying the storied Fulton County Fair. I got a famous Fulton County Dairy Association milkshake, a farm fresh cheeseburger and met hundreds of families from 6 of the 8 counties I represent across NW Ohio. Mark your calendar for the Fulton County Fair next year—you won't be disappointed.
We cannot allow ourselves to let this kind of speech or thinking to become normalized. Domestic violence is no joking matter. The sentiments expressed here are repulsive.
At Connecting Kids To Meals we helped pack over 3,000 meals for children across our NW Ohio Communities. Thanks to Toledo Tennis and so many volunteers, we are lifting our kids up for a good start to the 2025 school year.
Informing my work as a senior member of the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, our Fulton County farmers provide important feedback on rising cattle costs, production, and agricultural issues. Thank you to to AJ Schroeder from St. Mary’s Meats in Assumption for helping organize our roundtable.
Access to the Arts is vital to a thriving community. I want to thank the Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts for inviting me to an open house today at the Toledo Center for Live Arts. From Jazz, to Symphony Orchestra, and Ballet, this venue offers our region access to world class entertainment.
