Memorial Day wreath laying and observance alongside veterans of all ages in Toledo as we pay tribute to those lost in defense of our nation. A somber, yet powerful reminder of the sacrifices many generations have made to bequeath Liberty and freedom to us all.
As we approach Memorial Day and remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, it’s an honor to receive the 2024 American Legion Department of Ohio Legislator of the Year Award. It is the highest privilege to serve those who gave selflessly so that our nation could enjoy the blessings of Liberty.
On #NationalTaffyDay, we celebrate a piece of Ohio and beloved pillar of Cedar Point—salt water taffy! For generations, this sweet treat has delighted visitors and connected families, making it a beloved summer tradition. A true treasure of NW Ohio.

Deeply saddened by the tragic fatal shooting of staff members from the Israeli Embassy at a Jewish American Heritage Month event in our nation’s Capital. Hate and Antisemitism should have no place in American life and we must call it out and denounce it in the strongest terms.

Republicans are trying to take health care away from almost 14 million Americans in the dead of night.
I reminded them to their faces just how many of their constituents they're screwing over so billionaires can get trillions in tax cuts.
Federal Budgets are moral documents. They tell the American people who we value, and who is left behind. This Budget is paid for by cutting healthcare, and food for working families and seniors. 40,000 across NW Ohio, and nearly 14 million nationwide will lose coverage for this Billionaire bonanza.
The Billionaire tax cut bonanza will not help you. It will cut critical programs that feed children, families, and seniors. 14 million across our country will lose healthcare coverage. The bonanza for Billionaires is un-American and they should go back to the drawing board.
They want to hold the vote in the dead of night to keep the American people in the dark. If it’s such a “Big Beautiful Bill” then a few days of sunshine surely won’t hurt.
You can read more about our bipartisan legislative effort here:
Big Pharma overcharges us for life-saving medications. That’s why I joined Rep. Ro Khanna, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, & Rep. Andy Biggs to introduce the bipartisan Global Fairness in Drug Pricing Act to permanently lower prescription costs, stand up to Big Pharma, and put the American people first.

No spin. Just cold, hard facts. Under the Republican budget bill, the poor will get poorer and the rich will get richer.
Politicization of critical construction funding at the Corps of Engineers is dangerous. Disinvestment leads to higher costs. Deferred maintenance becomes disaster recovery. Preventable failures become national emergencies. Congress must reclaim our authority over Appropriations funding decisions.
The cruel bonanza for Billionaires Budget Bill will hurt constituents like Bonnie, 82, the primary caregiver for her nephew, Michael, 63, who is deaf, neurodivergent, and suffers multiple chronic conditions. They are one example of those harmed by unreliable onerous paperwork, and work requirements.
Sunday at 10 PM the Budget Committee reconvened because nothing says “confidence” like hiding cruel cuts in the dead of night. Now Republicans are meeting at 1 AM to move their bill forward in Rules Committee. If their plan is so noble, why do they feel the need to sneak it past the American people?
So saddened by the deadly rail accident that occurred in Fremont, Ohio. Three lives have been lost, with a fourth hospitalized in critical condition. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family of those lost and injured, and our brave first responders.
This #OlderAmericansMonth, we honor the strength, wisdom, and contributions of our seniors. I remain deeply committed to protecting Medicare, strengthening Social Security, and ensuring retirement security for all Ohioans. Our greatest generations deserve to age with respect, dignity, and care.

The Republican budget might be big, but it's far from beautiful.
Budget Democrats are united in fighting their backroom deal which strips health care from millions, gives trillions in giveaways to billionaires, and explodes the national debt.
We will fight it to the very end.
Welcome to Capitol Hill Sandusky Central Catholic 8th grade Class of 2025. Enjoyed spending time with the next generation of NW Ohio leaders to lift the day. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon back home in Sandusky!
ICYMI, sharing a full recording of my telephone town hall from last week focused on issues relating to Social Security, Medicare, and protecting seniors across NW Ohio. I was joined by special guests @repjohnlarson.govpeeps.us and Max Richtman who serves as President and CEO of @ncpssm.bsky.social.

WATCH: Republicans admit they made a backroom deal to change their budget bill — but they won't tell the American people.
One thing is clear: the only reason this vote passed tonight is because they’ve plotted behind closed doors to make their health care cuts even worse.
