I represent a heavily agricultural area in the Salinas Valley, and Trump’s tariffs and immigration policies have been wreaking havoc on farms. Congress needs to rein in this administration before more damage is done to our ag sector.

⚽️ A huge goal for Salinas and #CA18!
I’m proud to deliver a $500k check today to Salinas Regional Soccer Complex as one of the community projects I submitted this year. This funding will help the Complex expand into the largest sports facility between San Francisco and L.A.
It was a pleasure to meet with members of @uawregion6.bsky.social last week to discuss the need for Congress to support scientists and workers. As an original co-sponsor of the PRO Act, I believe in the right to organize and bargain for higher wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces.

Happy Lunar New Year!
House Democrats wish you and your loved ones peace, prosperity and happiness during the Year of the Horse.
I am sad to hear of the passing of civil rights giant Reverend Jesse Jackson, a man whose life of service has pushed America toward its promise of liberty and justice for all. As Rev. Jackson said, we must “keep hope alive” and continue his work for that America.
I voted no on Republicans’ bill that would block most people from registering to vote with their driver’s license. 140 million people lack a passport, and 69 million married women lack birth certificates with their legal name. The Senate must reject this voter suppression bill.
I had great meetings this week with student and faculty leaders @calcommcolleges.bsky.social to discuss my support for reauthorizing the Higher Education Act and other issues impacting California’s community colleges.
I’ve voted twice this year against funding Trump’s masked, poorly trained ICE agents. I’m prepared to vote no again until we rein in this lawless army Trump and Kristi Noem unleashed on America.

CNN: "Another photograph - these are notes AG Bondi brought to the hearing today. This shows a list of Rep. Jayapal's search history. Lawmakers are allowed to go to a DOJ facility to search unredacted files. We learned from this photo that the searches are apparently being tracked & read by the DOJ"
I’m proudly co-sponsoring @repyassansari.bsky.social’s three bills to rein in Trump’s lawless ICE agents. The Republican’s Big Ugly Bill slashed healthcare while giving $75 billion to ICE (more than we even fund our Marine Corps). Congress needs to fix this immediately.
The bravery of the Epstein survivors should be applauded, not ignored by our nation’s leaders.
Watch my full remarks: youtu.be/CdYl6I27s_I?...
The Department of Justice and the FBI are not fully complying with the release of the Epstein files as mandated by law. When I asked Pam Bondi about the lack of transparency, AG Bondi responded with theatrics and regurgitated White House talking points.
I just reviewed some of the unredacted Epstein files at the Department of Justice. Trump and many powerful people are often mentioned, but there’s also MILLIONS of files the DOJ continues to withhold in violation of the law. This coverup needs to end.
The reductions being made at the Department of Veterans Affairs are an outrageous disservice to our nation’s heroes. I just met with Local 2110 of AFGE to discuss the need for Congress to protect federal workers and veterans healthcare.
NASA is designing and testing the next generation of aircraft right here in Santa Clara County. It was a pleasure to visit the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel at Ames Research Center with NASA Administrator. The work they’re doing is critical to America’s leadership in aeronautics.
Trump’s policies are driving up costs in #CA18 and across the country. From soaring healthcare premiums to high grocery bills, Americans just can’t afford Republicans’ disastrous agenda.
Thank you to Vietnamese American Service Center and @sccgov.bsky.social for inviting me to their Lunar New Year celebration in San Jose. Wishing everyone security, good health, and prosperity in this new year!🧧🎊
Best of luck to San Jose’s own Anthony Ponomarenko as he competes in figure skating at the #WinterOlympics! 🇺🇸⛸️
