Here in #CA18, one monument to Black history is the Victory Salute statue at San Jose State University. It depicts alumni Tommie Smith & John Carlos at the 1968 Olympics raising their fists to protest injustice against Black Americans, one of the most defining images of the Civil Rights Movement.
During Black History Month, we recognize the many powerful stories and voices of Black Americans that have shaped our country. This month and every month, let us honor these contributions and ensure this history is never forgotten or erased.
🚀 GREAT NEWS: Along with Rep. Brian Babin, I’m proud to have led the bipartisan NASA Reauthorization Act through the House Science Committee this week. Together, we can continue strengthening America’s leadership in space.
Tens of thousands of folks will be visiting San Jose this weekend for #SuperBowlLX. Whether you’re a Seahawks fan, a Patriots fan, or a Bad Bunny fan, I hope you stay safe and take in all that our beautiful San Jose/Bay Area has to offer. 🏈
You know how many hearings Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have had this Congress about free speech in Europe? Three. How many hearings have they held to question DHS officials about their agents brutalizing Americans? Zero.
Wealth inequality is now the worst it’s been in 60 YEARS. Republicans gave huge tax cuts to the rich in their Big Ugly Bill, but the rest of America is getting crushed by Trump’s tariffs and policies. When are they going to stand up for regular Americans? www.cnbc.com/amp/2026/01/...
Trump is raiding election offices and saying Republicans should take power from the states to nationalize elections. He knows that Americans disapprove of his party’s disastrous agenda, and he wants to control elections so that they can win even if they lose.
Today, I once again voted no on giving more money to Trump’s out-of-control ICE agents. I will not support funding as long as they continue lawlessly brutalizing our communities.
Republicans had a markup on balancing the budget today. They should’ve thought of that BEFORE slashing taxes for the rich and sending more money to ICE than our Marine Corps.
Bonsai Robotics is building innovative products in Watsonville to help support our agricultural sector. Thanks to Larry Jacobs for giving me a tour of his farm to see these tools at work! #CA18
I’m proud to see San Jose selected as one of the host cities for the LA28 Olympic soccer matches and for fans around the world to experience our vibrant city! ⚽️🥇
Great to visit Santa Cruz METRO and ride one of their buses to the Watsonville Transit Center. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law I voted for provided $1.1 million for their vehicle replacement project, and I’m looking forward to further opportunities to improve transit in #CA18.
I was so proud to be in Salinas today for the grand opening of the new and improved Hebbron Family Center! Thanks to state funding as well as money from the American Rescue Plan I supported, this will now be a safe and inclusive space for all Salinas residents to gather. #CA18
Donald Trump and Kristi Noem have unleashed an army upon America that’s brutalizing lawful citizens. Congress shouldn’t authorize another dime for ICE until complete reform and protection from terrorizing our communities is secured.
I served on the J6 Committee where we investigated Trump’s Big Lie and its consequences. He’s still pushing these lies about winning Georgia, and he’s weaponizing the FBI to support his delusion. His presidency isn’t about helping Americans, it’s about boosting his fragile ego.
