I met with Stanford Medicine Children’s Hospital last week to discuss federal funding for training resident physicians at children’s hospitals. I’m always proud to support our children’s hospitals and will do all I can in Congress to help them get the resources they need.

House Republicans are trying to slash hundreds of millions of dollars for feeding Americans and for supporting our rural communities. I voted NO on this bill.

Yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling was a win for access to generics, but there’s more work to do. Congress should build on that momentum by passing this bill.
America has a prescription drug price crisis. That’s why Rep. Ben Cline and I introduced the bipartisan Skinny Labels, Big Savings Act to level the playing field for generic drug manufacturers and get medication to the market faster and cheaper.
The House finally passed the War Powers Resolution yesterday to end Trump’s war in Iran.
Sec. Rubio says the war is over, but tell that to the hundreds of millions of Americans still paying ridiculous gas prices. The Senate needs to follow suit and pass this resolution.
Every voter must sign the ballot envelope, which is then compared to their signature on file to prevent fraud. These measures take time but are worth the effort.
This is the same tired playbook by a man still bitter about losing the 2020 election. Mail-in voting is completely legal and secure. Trump should know because he votes by mail himself.

Republicans’ Big Ugly Law has wreaked havoc on hospitals across America. In #CA18, nurses have been furloughed, and five hospitals are at risk of cuts.
This largest healthcare cut in history needs to be reversed, so our communities are not left without care. www.protectourcare.org/hospital-cri...

Proud to lead a public comment letter to the Federal Bureau of Prisons voicing strong opposition to any reopening of FCI Dublin due to significant environmental and safety concerns along with @schiff.senate.gov, @padilla.senate.gov, and @lofgren.house.gov. (1/2)
The Congressional App Challenge is open once again! All middle/high school coders and innovators in #CA18 can submit their entries up until Oct 26th.

Congress must continue to fight for transparency from ICE and hold this agency accountable for any violations of the law (2/2).

Yesterday, I joined 3 of my congressional colleagues on an unannounced oversight visit to the California City ICE detention facility, where there had previously been reports of abysmal conditions (1/2).
Trump’s face doesn’t belong on a $250 bill, but there is one place it could go…
Breaking: The Trump administration is working to create a $250 bill with Trump’s face on it, even though it is a direct violation of federal law to have currency with a living person on it.
They fired the federal official who was resisting their demands.

I had the pleasure to tour the @ucsantacruz.bsky.social Institute for Particle Physics yesterday, where they’re doing cutting-edge research, including in fusion energy. California institutions are leading these advancements, and it’s critical that they continue receiving federal support.
This Memorial Day, we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this nation. We must honor them by continuing to protect the freedoms and democracy for which they gave their lives.

My Republican colleagues called a hearing on threats to the Supreme Court’s legitimacy, so I decided to read just a few examples of the $2.4 million in gifts Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted from his ultra wealthy allies:
