Trump using your taxpayer dollars to compensate J6 rioters isn’t just outrageous, it’s also dangerous. It sends the signal that the next time extremists are called to violently attack Trump’s opponents, he will not only pardon them but reward them financially for their crimes.
He helped bring our country towards a more perfect union but wisely cautioned against litmus tests as the country moves forward. I'm thankful for the years I had the chance to serve with him. My thoughts are with his family.
Barney Frank was a friend and colleague. One of the brightest people to serve in the House, he was a fearless advocate with a wicked sense of humor and command of parliamentary procedure.
I was happy to recently deliver the keynote speech at Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay’s latest groundbreaking in Watsonville! This affordable housing development is a step forward for #CA18, and I will keep working in Congress to boost our housing supply.
My heart breaks for the innocent lives lost in today’s shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego. No mosque and no religious congregation should ever have to fear a tragedy like this happening. Congress must act to secure places of worship and protect our communities from senseless gun violence.
America’s veterans deserve safe, high-quality dialysis services. I’m urging the @deptvetaffairs.bsky.social to meet with my office to discuss the dialysis industry’s chronic staffing shortage and the need to ensure VA contractors are providing safe environments for workers and our veterans.
Trump is trying to use your taxpayer dollars to create a fund that can be used to pay J6 insurrectionists, who stand ready to attack his adversaries again. He says we don’t have money for healthcare or childcare, but evidently we have money for his criminal friends.
BREAKING: 93 House Democrats have filed a motion to block Trump’s self-dealing settlement in his sham $10 billion IRS lawsuit, which would create a $1.7 billion slush fund for Jan. 6 rioters and political allies.
The same week that inflation had its biggest jump in 3 years, Trump says he’s not thinking about Americans’ financial situation. How much longer will congressional Republicans enable his out of touch policies?
Republicans are trying to give another $70 billion to ICE and CBP and…$1 BILLION for Trump’s ballroom. Nothing to help lower the cost of your gas, your groceries, or your healthcare.
This week, I had the opportunity to tour the new headquarters of Bay Area Community Health in San Jose. At a time when Republicans’ Big Ugly Law has threatened Americans’ healthcare, BACH has taken action to expand appointment availability and ensure consistent access to health services.
Trump says the quiet part out loud: he doesn’t care about Americans getting crushed by high gas and diesel prices. Does he care more about his ballroom than your bank account?
Trump on Iran War: Reporter: What extent are Americans’ financial situation motivating you to make a deal? Trump: Not even a little bit. I don't think about Americans’ financial situation
It was great to welcome the Academic World Quest team from Greenfield High School to our office in DC! We had a wonderful discussion about Congress’ role in international relations, and I’m so proud of them for their hard work and making it to the national championship.
Thank you to Jesuit Refugee Services for visiting my office to discuss your work to assist refugees and the need for Congress to support humane and sensible immigration policies.
It’s always exciting when we have a new business open up in #CA18! Congrats to the Grocery Outlet in King City on its grand opening, and thank you for inviting me to be part of this special day.
I had a great meeting with Santa Clara @vta.org to discuss their preparation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup and the latest developments on the Silicon Valley BART extension.
Small businesses are struggling under Trump’s tariffs and his Iran War. This Small Business Week, let’s put an end to these failed policies and focus on solutions that will help our small business owners and consumers.
Recently, I met with @sanjosestate.bsky.social leaders to discuss issues impacting San Jose State, including the Trump Administration canceling research awards and attempting to freeze federal funding without basis. These attacks hurt critical research & I stand with SJSU defending the institution.
America’s farmers are struggling, and so are those impacted by Republicans’ food assistance cuts. The Republican Farm Bill passed this week does not do anything to help those folks.
This is welcome news. I’m glad that we are now funding the law-abiding agencies within DHS, like TSA and FEMA. Now Congress needs to work on reining in ICE and CBP and holding them to the same standard to which every cop in America is held.
