Trump promised to lower costs on day one. Because of his policies, Americans are paying more at the grocery store, more for their healthcare, and now more at the gas station…
Small business optimism just hit its lowest level since October 2024. Trump’s war in Iran has sent oil prices soaring, and that hurts small businesses, who then have to pass along costs to customers. It’s time to end this illegal and costly war. www.nfib.com/news/press-r...
I had a great time visiting Pajaro Valley High School in Watsonville recently to talk to students about the importance of civic engagement and staying involved. I’m proud of these young leaders and all that they’re going to accomplish for our community.
This is precisely why I introduced the Real Courts, Rule of Law Act last month to create an independent immigration court system, separate from the DOJ. No matter which Administration is in power, Democrat or Republican, we need our immigration courts to be effective and impartial.
We spent months looking into how the Trump admin has remade the immigration courts by purging judges and pressuring those who remain to accelerate deportations. HT @nicknehamas.bsky.social for steering and @datab.ae, Allison McCann, @haleaziz.bsky.social + many more www.nytimes.com/2026/04/09/u...
The 25th Amendment should be invoked to spare our country and the world from his increasingly unhinged behavior. Congress needs to end this illegal war, and Speaker Johnson needs to call the House back to vote on the War Powers Resolution.
Threatening to murder tens of millions of innocent people, including children, is deranged. Trump's erratic behavior and cognitive decline makes clear to the world he is not fit to serve as President.
Trump: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will … We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end”
Trump: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!”
Trump’s budget asks for a $350 billion slush fund for any foreign war he chooses to drag us into. That’s enough to restore the ACA tax credits and lower health insurance premiums for 20 million Americans. But Trump chooses warfare over healthcare.
I had the pleasure of serving with Rod Diridon on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. Anytime we enjoy California’s rail system, we should remember the man who dedicated his life to improving our area’s infrastructure and serving the common good. May he rest in peace.
At VTA, we are saddened by the passing of Rod Diridon Sr., a visionary leader and champion of public transportation. For over 50 years, he advanced equitable transit and strengthened our region. We are grateful for his contributions and extend condolences to his family and loved ones.
I’m relieved that one of our brave American jet pilots was rescued after being shot down over Iran, and I hope the other crew member is found and brought to safety. My thoughts are with all of our troops in harm’s way.
Breaking news: One crew member has been rescued after a U.S. fighter jet crashed in Iran, officials say, with an intense search underway for the second crew member. This is a developing story. Read more here:
Just because Pam Bondi was fired doesn’t excuse her from accountability for her role in the Epstein file coverup. There is still a bipartisan subpoena to have her testify in front of Congress, and she must comply so the American people can get the truth.
It’s been one year since Trump’s “Liberation Day”, and the only thing he’s liberated Americans from is their hard-earned money. His illegal tariffs have robbed households $1,700 on average. When are House Republicans going to grow a spine and stop this?
Pam Bondi will be remembered for hiding the Epstein files and turning the DOJ into Trump’s personal law firm. Even her outrageous performance in front of Congress wasn’t enough to save her job.
The Department of Justice and the FBI are not fully complying with the release of the Epstein files as mandated by law. When I asked Pam Bondi about the lack of transparency, AG Bondi responded with theatrics and regurgitated White House talking points.
Trump is attacking citizens’ ability to vote by mail when he himself cast his ballot by mail just last week. He’s trying to suppress votes because he knows Americans are fed up with his costly tariffs, his illegal war with Iran, and his attacks on our healthcare.
Today is #FarmWorkersDay, and I am proud to fight for the hardworking people in the Salinas Valley who help to put food on Americans’ tables. In Congress, I’ve introduced the bipartisan Farm Workforce Modernization Act to provide needed stability for farms and farm workers.
