The Senate just voted to confirm Linda McMahon, someone who shares President Trump's desire to abolish the Department of Education. This would devastate special education programs. Nevada students and families rely on federal resources to succeed. They deserve better.
Linda McMahon, best known for founding World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., has said she ‘wholeheartedly supports’ Trump’s plans to abolish the Education Department.
550 workers went on strike against Frontier Hotel. Not a single one crossed the picket line over six years. During that time, Hattie also helped found the Culinary Academy, which has since trained more than 55,000 working Nevadans & is still training new generations of hospitality workers today.
To kick off Women’s History Month, I’m highlighting Hattie Canty: the former @culinary226.bsky.social President who led Culinary’s longest successful strike in history from 1991 to 1998.
Medicaid cuts don’t just affect a few people. They affect 811,000 Nevadans who use it to access their health care, as well as the hardworking providers who make that care available here at home. It would be devastating for families, seniors, and folks with disabilities 👇
Riley Rackliffe was a federal worker at Lake Mead responsible for monitoring waterborne diseases and toxic algae. He is also the sole source of income for his wife and two kids. Last week, Elon Musk fired him.
I just voted against the Republicans’ "Screw You" bill that would cut Medicaid for millions of families, food support for seniors, and services for children with disabilities in order to fund tax breaks for the Elon Musks of the world. It would add ~$3 trillion to our debt. 👇
Three years ago, Russia invaded Ukraine.   Russian forces have deliberately targeted and killed civilians and kidnapped Ukrainian children. Civilians have suffered torture and sexual violence at the hands of Russia.   Putin started this war. He is a dictator who must be stopped.
75% of Americans have favorable views of Medicaid, including 63% of Republicans, 81% of Independents, and 87% of Democrats. Then why does Republican Leadership in Washington want to cut it in their budget? To pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. www.kff.org/medicaid/pol...
Thank you to the Latin Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to their Business & Networking Luncheon. Our Latino business community is strong, and events like these support our local entrepreneurs and foster relationships.
It was an honor to present some of our local Vietnam veterans today with Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pins. They’ve made countless sacrifices so that we are able to live freely and safely – thank you all for your service.
House Republicans have a simple formula: cut Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires and big corporations. Today, I sat down with the folks who know firsthand how Medicaid provides critical care to our families, seniors in nursing homes, and people with disabilities.
811,000 Nevadans rely on Medicaid for their health care. That includes: ➡️ Nearly 40% of kids. ➡️ More than half of nursing home residents. ➡️ One third of people with disabilities. So no, I won’t stand by as out-of-touch politicians gut it to pay for billionaire tax breaks.
Las Vegas is known for its bright lights all around the world. Today, I had the opportunity to tour Premier Displays, a local small business behind some of the most state-of-the-art exhibits and displays right here in Las Vegas. Thanks for having me, Chris and Cindy!
