Measles was declared eliminated in 2000. Now, thanks to RFK Jr., it’s back with a vengeance. Kids are dying, outbreaks are spreading, and the Health Secretary is fueling the fire. This is what happens when science is replaced with lunacy. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/09/w...

Trump’s budget just launched a full-scale attack on health care in California. Over 3.4 million will lose coverage. Premiums will soar. Planned Parenthood defunded. Kids and veterans lose food aid. Hospitals on the brink. This isn’t reform—it’s demolition. calmatters.org/health/2025/...
I’ve helped secure over half a billion dollars in federal funding to tackle this pollution crisis—but the results can’t come fast enough. I’ll keep holding the Trump Administration accountable to meet their construction goals and deliver the relief our communities deserve.
Honored to welcome our largest-ever class of Democracy Summer Fellows! I’m so inspired by the passion these young leaders have for organizing and creating a better future.
This is what it looks like to add $4 TRILLION to the national debt.

The IRS just told churches they can endorse political candidates and still keep their tax-exempt status. That might sound like free speech—but it risks opening the door to something really awful. 🧵👇🏻

This is your daily reminder: Republicans gutted Medicaid, Medicare & SNAP to fund massive tax breaks for billionaires. Some impacts are delayed—but that’s intentional. The pain comes later to dodge accountability.
It’s the big beautiful DELAY.

The Founders didn’t separate church and state to weaken either—they did it to strengthen both.
I’ll do whatever I can in Congress to continue to protect this separation.
This isn’t about silencing anyone. It’s about protecting the independence of our faith communities and the integrity of our elections.
This change could turn churches into vehicles for campaign cash. It could invite candidates to seek blessings from the pulpit instead of support from the people. And it could give the IRS a new role we should all be wary of: deciding which speech is religious and which is political.

Special thanks to leaders from the San Diego and Orange County Democratic clubs and organizations who visited with our Democracy Summer Fellows!

ICYMI: The Supreme Court just took up a Republican case that could destroy campaign finance limits and bring back pre-Watergate corruption. The GOP wants unlimited party spending with candidates so billionaires can buy elections. This is how democracy dies.

Trumpcare just shut down its first hospital.
Curtis Medical Center in Nebraska is closing this year, hit by harsh Medicaid cuts in the Republican budget.
It’s a national red flag. Fewer hospitals, steeper premiums, and people everywhere at risk of losing care.

30,000 layoffs at VA is still 30,000 too many. Morale is sinking, and veterans are getting shortchanged. Meanwhile, 75% of new healthcare funding is going to private care, not the VA.
The GOP is quietly marching toward privatization—vets deserve better.
This is what it looks like to take healthcare away from 17 million people.
I support law enforcement—and I know trust is essential to doing the job right. That’s why I support legislation requiring immigration agents to wear visible ID during public operations. It protects officers from impersonators and builds public confidence.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
