This week, I met with the U.S. Conference of Mayors to discuss several of our bipartisan bills to mitigate our nation’s housing crisis.
As Mayor of San José, I banged my head against the federal “wall” enough to know that cities need a better federal partner to get more housing built–and sometimes, they just need to get federal rules out of the way.
Sense prevailed over stupidity by a 214-213 vote, and I’m grateful to four GOP colleagues who stood up to their leadership and said this is no way to govern. 2/2
