I'm calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to bring the House back into session to pass a standalone bill to ensure that our troops never miss a paycheck during a shutdown. (2/2)
Military families shouldn't suffer because the GOP majority refuses to come back to work. I'm grateful they didn't miss a paycheck this month, but next month is uncertain.
There are thousands of New Yorkers serving in our military and many live paycheck-to-paycheck. (1/2)
Medicare Open Enrollment is open through December 7!
Democrats are working to extend health insurance tax credits so you can keep your coverage affordable. The GOP majority should join us to stop premiums from rising.

I recently stopped by the free pop-up food pantry at the Free Synagogue of Flushing!
Food pantries are a lifeline for so many families as grocery prices continue to rise. We must continue fighting to make sure they get the federal support they need to serve communities like Queens.
These jobs are demanding regardless of a government shutdown & many of them are continuing to work without pay. I’m fighting to make sure they receive all the compensation they deserve. (2/2)
I met with federal workers, as well as Port Authority & airport personnel at LaGuardia Airport this morning to personally thank them for their hard work and dedication to serving every traveler flying through LGA. (1/2)

The GOP heath care cuts & the failure to expand health insurance tax credits will be devastating for women & families.
I heard this firsthand from advocates across the nation during our @demwomencaucus.bsky.social roundtable.
We cannot stop fighting to protect health care.
Next week, tens of thousands of New Yorkers will lose food assistance because of the Big Ugly Bill.
These cuts threatening food access for families already struggling to get by should be repealed
.
I’ll keep fighting to ensure everyone can access the assistance they need to put food on the table.
The GOP majority must come back to the table & work with Democrats to end this shutdown.
Shutdown update: Day 15
Families are missing paychecks & folks across the country are concerned about what will happen next.
I'm back in DC ready to pass a bill that funds the government & protects health care costs from skyrocketing.
We are 15 days into a government shutdown.
House Democrats are on Capitol Hill ready to pass a bill that saves your health care, lowers costs, and funds the government.
Where is the Republican majority?
I'm live with @demwomencaucus.bsky.social in the Capitol talking about the impact the GOP shutdown & health care crisis is having on women & families.

I’m proud to have many great interns serving in my Washington & district offices. In D.C., we are seeking Spring 2026 interns!
Gain hands-on experience, learn about the legislative process, & serve Queens from Capitol Hill. College students & graduates are encouraged to apply by October 24.
Health care is already too expensive. Families can’t afford these hikes.
Failing to extend health insurance tax credits would hit families hard—especially here in Queens.
➡️ A 60-year-old couple earning $82K would pay $13,848 more each year.
