Not even a week after Grok's antisemitic outburst, the DoD announced it will pay xAI $200M to use the chatbot. Instead of rewarding Grok for spreading hate online, we should be using that money for something productive, like establishing guardrails for AI or building systems to combat online hate.
The Administration promised to lower costs for gas and groceries on day one. Six months in and we are only seeing prices continue to rise.
Working families need relief!

Queens faces flooding when the New York City area gets hit with torrential rain—last night we saw two inches in just one hour.
That’s why I secured $1M in federal funding to build a new flood management system to help protect our neighborhoods during major storms.
Federal workers are the backbone of our bureaucracy. They take an oath to serve our communities regardless of who is in the Oval Office.
When I visited the IRS office in NYC, I was alarmed by the office conditions they were expected to work in.

Everyone deserves safe, affordable housing. It’s a basic need.
I was proud to join @nychousing.bsky.social to break ground on 55 new affordable homes in Sunnyside, Queens.
The housing crisis has impacted every community & I’m glad to see Queens taking action.
Conflict-related sexual violence is a despicable war crime, with 95% of reported cases targeting women and girls.
Proud to partner with Rep. Maria Salazar to affirm the US role in ending it, holding perpetrators accountable, and bringing justice to victims.

To all those affected by the Administration’s cuts: We owe you a debt of gratitude. Your tireless work will not be forgotten.
The 1,300 State Department civil servants that were fired dedicated their lives to serving our nation and building a more peaceful future. Without them, the security and strength of our nation will suffer.
Veterans Virtual Engagement Series: VA Loans & Housing Assistance
My team is hosting a virtual event with the NYC Department of Veterans' Services & Contour Mortgage to help local veterans navigate their VA housing benefits on Friday, July 18, 3pm-4pm. RSVP is required.
Details👇
The GOP passed a budget that puts at least 11 New York hospitals at risk of closure. This will hurt New Yorkers in Queens and across the state.
We can’t stop fighting to protect New York’s health care system.
There's no job that's too small!
Recently, a constituent complained that the lawn & landscaping at the Forest Hills Post Office was overgrown with weeds. I reached out to the USPS and within days it was mowed, trimmed, & cleaned up. Thanks to QueensCB6 for bringing this to our attention.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs plans to cut 30,000 jobs by the end of September through a hiring freeze, deferred resignations, and retirements.
Veterans already face significant wait times and barriers when filing claims. Cutting staff will only hurt our veterans.
Congrats, 2025 Grads!🎓
My team & I are celebrating K-12 graduates of the class of 2025. Graduates can register to receive a certificate & join us to celebrate in style. Sign up & learn more: bit.ly/RepMengRSVP
It makes no sense that people who rely on SNAP can’t use their benefits to buy a hot meal, but they CAN buy the same thing frozen.
My Hot Foods Act will change this outdated rule.
It’s time for Congress to take action & pass my commonsense bill.
I’m fighting to deliver $2 million in federal funding to repair the Maspeth firehouse. FDNY's Squad 288 and HazMat 1 keep our community safe & updates to their house are long-overdue.
I’ll continue pushing this crucial funding through Congress until it reaches the finish line.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled the right to an abortion is a human right. We must continue fighting to make sure that all Americans have reproductive freedoms, regardless of the state they live in.
Food pantries are essential & I'm continuing to call on Secretary Kristi Noem to restore federal funding for them without delay—our neighbors are counting on it!
In Queens, food pantries, like ICNA Relief, are a lifeline for hungry families.
It is unconscionable that this administration is withholding the money these organizations need to serve our communities!
America is a global leader in science and technology. Talent from across the world comes here through the National Science Foundation to solve some of our greatest challenges.
We cannot cede this competitive advantage because of partisan politics.
Thanks to the GOP’s big ugly budget bill, 300,000 New York households may lose their SNAP benefits.
They are taking food from hungry families to pay for tax cuts that only benefits billionaires.
