Never expected to earn a black belt — even an honorary one!
Huge thanks to Grandmaster Y. H. Park, the Y. H. Park Taekwondo Academy, and Ron Kim for the honor. It was amazing to cheer on so many talented athletes and celebrate their dedication this weekend.
TOMORROW: City Harvest Food Drive
I'm partnering with City Harvest to host a food distribution for federal and contract workers impacted by the shutdown. Join us 11am - 1pm at the Queens Museum for fresh produce & groceries. Please bring your federal or contractor ID.

ICE showed up in Chinatown yesterday dressed for war, not community safety.
Hardworking families were terrified. Communities were thrown into chaos. This isn’t law enforcement; it’s a federal overreach.
Almost 94,000 of my constituents rely on SNAP to put food on the table each month.
Why isn’t the Administration taking the billions it’s using to bail out Argentina, buy private jets, or build a fancy ballroom to guarantee SNAP benefits instead?
Grateful to law enforcement for preventing another act of targeted political violence. There is no place for political violence in any community. We must continue to condemn these threats and hateful acts—no matter which side of the aisle they target.
I’m grateful for all they’re doing to keep pilots, passengers, flight staff, and our surrounding communities safe, but it’s time to pass a bill that pays our federal workers, saves healthcare, and ends this GOP shutdown!
I stopped by LaGuardia Airport to visit federal workers, like our TSA agents, who are working without pay as the GOP shutdown continues.
Happy Diwali to all who celebrate in Queens and beyond! May the lights of the season fill your homes with joy, love, and new beginnings.

I'm partnering with local leaders to host a paper shredding event on Friday, October 24, 9:00am - 12:00pm, at Queens Public Library Briarwood. Safely dispose of documents and mail piling up at home to protect your personal information from scammers!
It was an honor to join Adhikaar and the South Asian community in Queens to celebrate Dashain. I hope this 15-day festival has brought joy, peace, and renewal to everyone who observe this cherished tradition.

I'm calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to bring the House back into session to pass a standalone bill to ensure that our troops never miss a paycheck during a shutdown. (2/2)
Military families shouldn't suffer because the GOP majority refuses to come back to work. I'm grateful they didn't miss a paycheck this month, but next month is uncertain.
There are thousands of New Yorkers serving in our military and many live paycheck-to-paycheck. (1/2)
Medicare Open Enrollment is open through December 7!
Democrats are working to extend health insurance tax credits so you can keep your coverage affordable. The GOP majority should join us to stop premiums from rising.

I recently stopped by the free pop-up food pantry at the Free Synagogue of Flushing!
Food pantries are a lifeline for so many families as grocery prices continue to rise. We must continue fighting to make sure they get the federal support they need to serve communities like Queens.
These jobs are demanding regardless of a government shutdown & many of them are continuing to work without pay. I’m fighting to make sure they receive all the compensation they deserve. (2/2)
I met with federal workers, as well as Port Authority & airport personnel at LaGuardia Airport this morning to personally thank them for their hard work and dedication to serving every traveler flying through LGA. (1/2)
