When Kathy’s daughter Kaylyn passed away, she wanted to find a way to keep her compassion and spirit alive — she created Kaylyn’s House of Joy, a home for young women suffering from trauma and abuse.
It was amazing to see the lives being transformed by the Kaylyn's House team.
Public broadcasting is ground zero of the warning system to make sure people know about floods and tornadoes.
Now more than ever, we should be investing in it, not cutting it. bit.ly/4lVbRNn
Great meeting at the Somali Community Center in Beechmont yesterday.
Nearly 20,000 Somalis are our neighbors in Louisville — our diversity is one of our city's greatest assets!
Had a great morning stocking shelves for the USDA delivery of food at the South Louisville Community Ministries food bank.
As we plan for an uncertain future, we'll keep working together to make sure Louisvillians are fed, no matter what happens in DC.
Too many of our kids, veterans, and seniors don't get enough to eat.
Now, 50,000 Kentuckians are at risk of losing their next meal.
Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress don't care. bit.ly/4kqZ9V9

The Republican budget just made it even easier for the ultra rich to buy a private jet — paid for by the American taxpayer.
My heart breaks for the loved ones of every person lost to the horrific flooding along the Guadalupe River.
I’m grateful for the efforts of first responders, and as a dad, I’m holding the parents of these young campers especially close in my prayers as they mourn this unimaginable tragedy.
Donald Trump lied.
He said he wouldn't touch Medicaid, but he is about to sign into law the largest cut to Medicaid in American history.
Another broken promise from a president who continues to side with billionares over working families.
Honored to be a part of the Locust Grove naturalization ceremony this Fourth of July to celebrate and welcome some of our newest citizens! 🇺🇸
This Republican budget is a slap in the face to Kentucky and all of rural America.
My statement:
Hakeem Jeffries just gave the longest speech in the history of the House.
By telling the stories of people from every state in the country — including Kentucky — he made sure Republicans couldn't jam this bill through in the dead of night.
We cannot and will not stop fighting.
This Republican budget is a slap in the face to Kentucky.
35 rural hospitals will close. 133,000 rural Kentuckians will lose health insurance. 20,000 health care jobs will be eliminated.
All so that Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos pay even less in taxes.
You don't debate a bill at 4:00am if you're proud of it.
Republicans know this budget hurts people — that it will make kids and families sicker, hungrier, and poorer.
They're choosing to go ahead anyway. Their choices are cruel and indefensible.
Louisville Councilwoman Shameka Parrish-Wright stopped by my office today to share her story.
When she needed a pacemaker — not once, but twice — Medicaid literally saved her life.
If you have a Medicaid story, speak up! It's not too late to kill this bill.
JD Vance claims to have roots in Breathitt County, Kentucky.
Guess what? That's one of the 35 rural counties with a hospital that will close under this Republican budget.
It's shameful.
This bill will hurt people in Kentucky. It will kick millions of Americans off their health insurance. All so that Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos pay even less in taxes.
It's disgusting.
I'm on my way to the House to try and kill this bill.
We need just four Republicans to have the courage to vote no. Because they know this bill hurts people.

133,000 rural Kentuckians would lose their health insurance if the Republican's cuts to Medicaid go through — more than any other state.
All so that Donald Trump's billionaire donors pay even less in taxes.
I won't stop fighting these cruel and inhumane cuts.
