We met with home health aides and clients in Union City. These are people in our community who would be hurt by Republican cuts to Medicaid. That’s why I’m committed to doing everything we can to protect and preserve it.

Like many things, childcare remains hard to access and all too expensive. That’s why I wanted to hear first-hand from childcare providers in Elizabeth and advocates at HOPES CAP in Hoboken to better understand what they are seeing on the ground and how we can work together on those issues.
We hosted Mobile Office Hours and a Social Security Information session in Hoboken and Harrison. Listening to our constituents and bringing our office directly to them is a core focus of our office.
We were in Bayonne to discuss how cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid would impact our neighbors. I hear from folks everyday asking me to stand up for these critically important programs — and that’s exactly what I’ll keep doing.
While we work hard every day to push back against the Trump Administration in DC, we have been all across the district engaging with our constituents. Here’s what we’ve been up to: 🧵
Great town hall last night in Jersey City with @newjerseyoag.bsky.social. Always enjoy getting to engage with our neighbors and share the work we’re doing both here and in DC. Thanks to everyone who came out and made their voices heard. We are in this fight - together.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social will stay vigilant no matter what distractions this Administration throws our way. And we will always protect Americans when this Administration puts them in harm’s way. We will keep fighting and meeting the moment - together.
That’s why I joined @beyer.house.gov and dozens of my Democratic colleagues in calling on the Trump Administration and OMB to be transparent about how Musk and DOGE are using our data and what they are going to do to protect it. This is too important to ignore.
Should we be harnessing the power of AI to maintain competitiveness globally? Yes. But do you trust DOGE and this Administration to properly safeguard it and do what’s right? I don’t.
We’re already seeing the impacts of DOGE’s carelessness. A recent whistleblower report highlighted that following DOGE’s entry into the NLRB, attempts were made to access the data from Russia. This is the unnecessary risk that this Administration is willing to take with YOUR personal information.
And it’s not just that they have this information. They’re weaponizing it. The IRS has now agreed to share data with ICE to obtain information about undocumented immigrants (for the record: they now are admitting that immigrants DO pay taxes.)
That’s EXACTLY why we should ALL be sounding the alarms that Musk and DOGE are using AI models within federal agencies and freely accessing as much sensitive taxpayer data as they want.
Here’s the problem: without House Republicans providing ANY oversight over DOGE, we don’t have the necessary guardrails in place to protect our data from bad actors.
A huge amount of data is needed to unleash the power of AI but I’m concerned that the Trump Administration might be handing our data to tech companies rather than protecting it or using it for the common good. Hence why Musk’s DOGE minions are embedded in dozens of federal departments and agencies.
At an @energycommerce.bsky.social hearing, we heard about the need to create a “National AI Data Reserve” to fully leverage the potential of AI for ALL Americans and the value of that information.
The trove of data that the government has about each of us - ranging from taxes to income to immigration status - is incredibly valuable. How valuable?
I believe the Trump Administration’s “flood the zone” strategy is meant to distract from certain harm they’re causing that they don’t want people to know about - specifically, the misuse of your personal data. Here’s what I mean 🧵
We need an ALL hands approach to taking on this Administration, from AGs, to law firms, to our academic institutions. I applaud these colleges and universities for doing the right thing for their students and communities. Their commitment to what is right should inspire us all to continue the fight.
Don't forget to RSVP for tomorrow's Town Hall with @newjerseyoag.bsky.social! Visit menendez.house.gov/townhall for more.
Happy Earth Day! Started the day off with a Community Cleanup in Elizabeth, followed by an important conversation at the Hackensack River Nation Summit.
Everyone deserves clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and safe green spaces to play. That's what we're fighting for 🤝🌎🌲
