I sat down with Gloria Ho of the Delaware State Education Association to talk about what students, educators, and families are facing right now. Public education needs investment, stability, and respect—not fear and cuts. Young people deserve supportive classrooms where they can thrive.

Glad to have had the chance to meet Natalia Gatti, Delaware’s Poetry Out Loud winner, while she was in DC for the national finalists reception. I'm grateful for young people like Natalia who remind us of the power of art, expression, and using your voice. Keep making Delaware proud!

I enjoyed getting to connect with leaders from the Delaware Department of Education's CTE team to talk about how we can prepare students for careers with impact and innovation. When we invest in career and technical education, we invest in mobility and opportunity.

2/ We discussed our countries’ economic ties and the importance of a strong NATO alliance. I’m grateful for Iceland’s partnership and hopeful we can continue working together to advance human rights and strengthen transatlantic collaboration.
Rep. McBride and Ambassador Svanhildur Hólm Valsdóttir of Iceland.
2/ I'm so grateful for the lifesaving work our nurses do every single day despite strained health care infrastructure and consistent attacks from this administration. Through it all, nurses continue to show up to keep our communities healthy and safe.

I recently visited a few local businesses in downtown Smyrna, where I had the pleasure of meeting impactful and innovative neighbors who are shaping their community. During this National Small Business Week, I am celebrating the work they do to invest in and power our economy.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Day! I am so thankful for all of the Delaware teachers that are shaping lives every single day through their support and leadership. As a proud supporter of our state’s teachers union, I’ll continue to advocate for the pay, resources, and respect our educators deserve.

I enjoyed meeting with some folks from the Brandywine School District, and I’m grateful for all the work they’re doing to support our students and advocate for technical education in the First State.

Today is Int’l Workers' Day, a time to uplift the laborers & unions who power our economy. Working Delawareans deserve an economy that reflects the work they do every single day and I will keep pushing policies that prioritize fairer wages, benefits, and better working conditions.

I don’t swear much—but this week, Republicans in Congress are trying to leverage the actions of an attempted assassin to justify spending millions of taxpayer money on his luxurious new ballroom, while my neighbors are barely staying afloat. So, pardon my French.
A graphic with a stylized headline from The Hill newspaper that reads “Democrat on Trump’s ballroom: ‘my constituents can’t afford f—ing groceries or utility bills’” and a quote from McBride that reads “My constituents can’t afford f—ing groceries or utility bills, and he wants to spend taxpayer money on a ballroom?”
Moments like the Artemis II mission are both scientifically significant and civically healing, but they depend on a president willing to come before Congress to make the case for space exploration—not an administration that fails to provide transparency to the American people.
It was great to connect with NeighborGood partners in DC! The Nat’l NeighborWorks Assoc is doing great work for our state of neighbors, from advocating for affordable housing to strengthening financial education resources. I’m always happy to talk about how I can help their efforts in Congress.

It was a pleasure to connect with so many University of Delaware alumni and current students in D.C. at the UD Alumni Fly-In! Young people are the future of our democracy so it was wonderful to speak with these emerging community leaders to discuss what it means to be a public servant.

2/ While we’re still learning more about what happened, we must never accept a world where violence like this is common — or allow ourselves to become desensitized to it. Praying for everyone’s continued safety.
