The United Kingdom's global relationships are stronger because of Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s diligent defense of democracy, and work to build coalitions & deepen cooperation. I wish him well and look forward to working with his successor to protect the relationship between the U.S. and the UK.
Trump repeatedly claimed private donors, not taxpayers, would be paying for his ballroom. Instead, taxpayers are expected to foot half of the $600 million bill. That's $300 million that could lower health care costs, strengthen Social Security services, or help families struggling.
In order to remain devoted to the ultra wealthy, Republicans have spent their entire time in power kicking people off of health care – making it more expensive than ever to get coverage. That’s unacceptable in the richest country in the world.
Republicans promised affordability. Instead, more than half of our country can no longer afford health care – that's the lowest level since Gallup began tracking.
Happy Juneteenth! Today, we celebrate the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans and honor their resilience, strength, and contributions to our democracy.
Americans deserve more than false promises from a president so desperate to end a war he’s willing to fork over $300 billion to Iran. After months of pain, lost lives, soaring costs, & economic turmoil, families need assurance that the failures of this war aren’t repeated and that it ends for good.
If this were really about insurance fraud, Trump and Republicans would be going after every state with a serious problem – not just the states run by Democrats. This administration is solely focused on using the government to target political foes, not to protect taxpayers from fraud.
The Trump Administration is threatening unemployment insurance in Democratic states. Meanwhile, it ignores Republican-led states with some of the worst fraud, overpayment rates, and the largest gaps in benefit access. This isn't about fraud. It's about politics.
Imagine working your entire life, paying into Social Security every paycheck, and trusting it will be there when you retire. Then watching politicians slash services, expose personal data, and threaten the very programs you earned. That's governance under Trump and Republicans.
This report confirms what we've long suspected: Medicare's hospice payment system is vulnerable to exploitation at the expense of patients and taxpayers. Democrats have a plan to fix it. Republicans only have excuses.
For years, Democrats have sounded the alarm about Medicare's hospice payment system creating opportunities for fraud and excessive spending. Republicans love talking about waste, fraud, and abuse. Now that a GAO report has confirmed the problem, let's see if they're going to do something about it.
Trump wanted to use one of our nation’s greatest promises—Social Security—to advance his despicable immigration agenda. When you think this Administration can't stoop any lower, they prove you wrong.
Breaking news: The Trump administration had plans to classify 2.7 million living people — including some U.S. citizens and lawful residents — as dead as part of its immigration enforcement efforts, according to a former senior Social Security executive.
Only Trump would think he deserves praise for following a temporary court order. Don’t forget he’s still getting a get out of jail free card on his taxes. Keep up the pressure on House Republicans to ban this outrageous slush fund.
Trump is retreating from plans for a $1.8 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” after a fierce backlash from fellow Republicans.
The president is trying to treat your tax dollars as a personal piggybank. Today, a court upheld the rule of law—even when House Republicans won’t. They could end this now. Until they do, Democrats will keep fighting to stop this lawless president and protect your tax dollars.
For nearly 160 years, the last Monday in May has served as a day to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. On this Memorial Day, take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy every day and remember the sacrifices of those who have made this observance possible.
The President who once promised to lower costs on day one now dismisses the pain you feel as something he doesn’t even think about. This is the reality of Trump's economy and the direct result of his war of choice—and it's only going to get worse.
Trump is engaging in levels of corruption unlike anything America has seen from a president. His scheme to reward his allies and shield himself, his family, & his businesses is a gross assault on taxpayers. @democrats-judiciary.house.gov Ranking Member @raskin.house.gov & I are demanding answers.
Trump has turned the government into his personal protection racket by making sure his, his family’s, and his companies’ taxes are permanently off limits. The same people struggling with groceries and gas are now forced to bankroll this legal shakedown and the enrichment of his family empire.
Justice Department expands Trump settlement to cover his tax audits
