The Economic Opportunity Act, signed in 1964, created programs like Head Start and Job Corps to lift Americans out of poverty and help them get ahead. Trump’s attacking these programs, but I'm fighting to build an economy that works for everyone.
Hardworking Americans deserve dignity. No one working full-time should be forced into poverty or need a second job to cover rent and groceries. It is time to #raisethewage.
New Jersey deserves answers, and we will keep fighting for transparency.
Last month, @repherbconaway.bsky.social and I sent a letter to DHS, DoD, & ICE requesting information regarding their plans to house undocumented immigrants at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. They haven't responded, and that is unacceptable.
Trump has decided to make it harder for you to vote. Mail-in voting is not a threat to our democracy: Putin is.
The 19th Amendment was ratified on this day in 1920, thanks to the tireless work of suffragists like New Jersey’s own Alice Paul. We must keep up the fight to ensure our voting rights are protected.
Happy Birthday @govmurphy.bsky.social. New Jersey is stronger today because of your leadership and I am grateful for the work we’ve accomplished together.
In the 3 years since it was signed into law, the Inflation Reduction Act is helping working families by lowering prescription drug prices, capping insulin, and investing in a clean energy future. Trump and Republicans are trying to roll back these investments, but I am fighting back.
This week, I announced a $6.4 million investment to upgrade the Camden Fire Department's firehouses and fire trucks. Every emergency call our firefighters answer carries risks, and having reliable, modern equipment can make the difference between life and death.
It was great to catch up with Collingswood Mayor Daniela Solano-Ward and Deputy Mayor Amy Henderson Riley this week. We got to grab ice cream at Bombastic and chat about how we can help improve public safety, education, and housing in our local communities.
Thank you to the Food Bank of South Jersey for doing everything possible to deliver food to those in need during these trying times.
Yesterday, I visited the Food Bank of South Jersey to sound the alarm on the cuts to food assistance in Trump's Big Ugly Bill.
These devastating cuts could leave 97,000 people in my district without food. It's disgraceful. Food is a right, not a privilege.
90 years ago, President Roosevelt signed Social Security into law, changing American lives for the better. Today, I am fighting to protect the benefits our seniors paid into and earned by pushing back on Trump and Republicans' efforts to privatize and dismantle the program.
Thank you to the over 10,000 constituents who participated in my telephone town hall last night! Trump’s Big Ugly Law is the largest cuts to healthcare and food assistance in US history. You can count on me to continue to fight back against these devastating cuts and stand up for South Jersey.
Our interns keep our office running smoothly and I can't thank them enough for all they do. It was great to sit down and talk with my summer interns about their future career aspirations and what they learned from this internship.
I was honored to work with every level of our government to help bring home $115 million for this new state-of-the-art facility.
Our children's education and the quality of their schools should not be determined by zip code. Eastside High is long overdue for a new building, and yesterday marked an important step toward making that a reality.
I stand with the EPA workers in the fight to regain their collective bargaining rights.
Our EPA workers help keep our air safe to breathe and our water safe to drink. They deserve to have their union contract honored, but the Trump Administration has proven once again that they don't care about workers. www.reuters.com/business/wor...
Trump’s H.R. 1 isn’t just a bad bill, it’s a betrayal of those who served our country in uniform.
🚫 Cuts SNAP for 1.2M veterans
🚫 Slashes Medicaid access
🚫 Guts student loan support
Veterans gave everything. I am fighting back to make sure our bravest get what they earned from a grateful nation.
