Rep. Ilhan Omar: "The fact the president thinks it's okay to bring charges against those who represent us is something Minnesotans are not going to stand for, and Americans shouldn't either"
Please support our Somali businesses 🙏🏽. I stopped by Karmel Mall today to check in with community members. We need to support one another and not be intimidated by Trump and his goons.
Trump thought he could intimidate Minnesotans and that we would react with riots. Instead, we showed up with compassion, resilience, and strength. We showed the country what real resistance looks like.
Republicans cut your healthcare to pay for a federal invasion of Minneapolis. ICE isn’t making us safer — it’s terrorizing our communities.

I am honored to be endorsed by @ilhanmn.bsky.social While the Trump administration continues to attack Minnesota with his reckless masked agents, trying to use Minnesota to spread his xenophobic message of hate, this moment calls for us to stand up and show our values through our actions.
DHS did not allow my colleagues and me into the ICE processing center over "concerns for our safety or worry for ICE agents."  That's BS. It is deeply disturbing to think about what ICE is hiding when they are actively denying members from conducting their oversight duty.
Somali Minnesotans are resilient. We will not let Trump or ICE intimidate us. Our neighbors have our back. While ICE will eventually leave our beautiful city, we will be here continuing to love and support one another.

Rep Omar: "It's really important for Americans to record, to create the level of transparency we need. What we have seen in Mpls is ICE agents oftentimes jumping out of unmarked cars wearing a mask. We know that DHS has lied repeatedly, so it is important for there to be recording from eyewitnesses"
I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building. Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained. The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents. @zeteo.com
Thousands of Minnesotans gathered last night to honor Renee Nicole Good. We will never accept that a single federal agent can be judge, jury, and executioner in our streets. ICE needs to get out of Minneapolis.

I’m following news of a reported shooting of a legal observer by ICE agents in South Minneapolis. I’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and will update as soon as I receive information. ICE must stop terrorizing our communities and leave our city.

“No one is more obsessed with Ilhan Omar than Donald Trump.” @franifio.bsky.social explains why Ilhan Omar and Somali immigrants have been targets of some of the most “hate-fueled vitriol” ever unleashed by Trump and MAGA. Subscribe at Zeteo.com to support our work!

Rep. Ilhan Omar on Trump calling Somalis "garbage" -- "He's talking about Americans. We are doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, we are elected representatives of our state. These vile comments and this creepy obsession that he has on me and Somali-Americans really is dangerous and beneath the office"
