Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Patricia Pelosi is an American politician who was the 52nd speaker of the United States House of Representatives, serving from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she was the first woman elected U.S. House speaker and the first woman to lead a major political party in either chamber of Congress, heading the House Democrats from 2003 to 2023. Her 20 years as a House party leader are tied with Joe Martin's as the second-longest after Sam Rayburn. Pelosi is in her 20th term, having served in the House since 1987, representing California's 11th congressional district, which includes most of San Francisco. She is the dean of California's congressional delegation.

In April, Donald Trump said he couldn't meet Americans' needs because "we're fighting wars."   Now, Republicans are reflecting those values with a new “America Last” budget that spends another $73 billion on Trump's endless wars while working families struggle to make ends meet.
Heartbroken by the tragic boat accident in the Bay. My prayers are with the victims, their loved ones and everyone anxiously awaiting news. Deeply grateful to the Coast Guard and first responders for their courage and tireless efforts as the search and rescue mission continues.
While they spend American tax dollars on endless wars abroad and line the pockets of billionaires at home, Republicans are leaving working families with skyrocketing inflation and higher prices at the pump. Trump and Republicans will do anything except lower costs.

By ignoring the vote of the Congress to stop this war, the President has doubled down on endangering American servicemembers, driving up costs at the pump, and forcing working families to foot the bill for this unnecessary war of choice.
Having failed to secure a lasting peace or achieve his stated objectives, President Trump has once again dragged America back into a dangerous and illegal war with Iran.

Today, we celebrate 158 years since the 14th Amendment’s ratification—a promise that every person born on American soil is an American citizen, equal under the law.   Despite the President's failed attempts to erase this constitutional guarantee, it continues to endure as a pillar of our Democracy.
