It's been over a month that federal workers & contractors have gone without pay.
They've had to take out loans, work side gigs, & visit food pantries to make ends meet.
Why? Because Trump & Republicans refuse to negotiate to reopen the govt & save healthcare for millions.
Our federal workers & contractors are headed into another month without pay.
I shared a meal with a few @unitehere.org workers, many of whom work in food service, to hear how this GOP shutdown has impacted them.
My bill would ensure they get their rightful backpay once the govt reopens.
Democrats are in this shutdown fight because healthcare is on the line.
Healthcare is a human right and accessing it is literally a matter of life and death.

At Orchard Gardens, a public school in Roxbury, I asked the school nurses what the #1 issue is for kids who come to them.
Their response? Hunger.
