Trump is gutting the Forest Service after a record-breaking wildfire season in 2025.
Newsflash: we can’t prevent forest fires without the essential employees that make the research into them happen.
I enjoyed attending all the Easter Egg Hunts last weekend🐰🥚
In a world of chaos, it’s important to try to find joy and help our kids find a sense of normalcy. Hope everyone had a happy (or hoppy) Easter!🐇
I know housing is a human right, and as a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Housing, I'm fighting to keep the faucet on and fund more affordable units throughout Chicago.
I was honored to speak at Housing Forward's annual Have a Heart Gala. At this one event, they were able to raise $350,000 to end homelessness.
I’m leading this bipartisan effort with Rep. Calvert, @coons.senate.gov, and Sen. Murkowski. I am also thankful for the support of I AM ALS, @alsassociation.bsky.social, @mda.org, and ALS United.
This week I introduced my bill to reauthorize the ACT for ALS: my program to fund research into ALS treatments. I was proud to pass the original ACT for ALS in 2021, which funded five years of research.

Our service members deserve the support they need to finish their studies, regardless of which school they attend or their religious beliefs.
I’m again calling for Hegseth’s resignation on the grounds of limiting academic freedom and disregarding the separation of Church and State.
Pete Hegseth has cut ALL educational funds for active-duty service members at Harvard and Princeton (despite him attending these schools) in favor of Christian-affiliated colleges.
If you or someone you know is experiencing sexual assault or harassment, you are not alone. Please call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-4673.
Trump's DOJ has yet to comply with the law, but we're not letting up the pressure. We are going to get justice for the 1,000+ girls and women abused by him and his ring of conspirators.
April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This fall, I was proud to vote nearly unanimously with my colleagues to force the Department of Justice to release all files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
This week, Trump threatened to kill everyone in Iran. That is a war crime, and we must not allow Trump to normalize it.
We can not let this be who we are as a country.
I'm also calling for an independent mental health assessment of the President. We can't be living on thin ice while the leader of the free world threatens to kill an entire country. This is not a stable individual.
Let me be absolutely clear: the Cabinet must invoke the 25th amendment and Congress must begin impeachment proceedings to remove Trump from office. With this 'ceasefire,' Trump's trying to take credit for fixing a problem he caused. There's no telling if this war will be over any time soon.
Five weeks into Trump's war with Iran and we are still left asking: What was this for? 13 service members killed, 200 more injured, and billions of taxpayer dollars spent—all for the United States to be in a worse negotiating position than before.
More below.
I'm officially calling for the Cabinet to remove Trump from office under the 25th Amendment. If they can't, Congress must return from recess today and begin impeachment proceedings.

The economy is in shambles, House Republicans have still not agreed to the common-sense DHS deal, and now the President is threatening to "kill a whole civilization" in Iran.
Speaker Johnson, please call the House back into session. The world can not wait till Tuesday!
With this Secretary of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security posting Bible verses, the Trump administration is trying to make America look like the exclusionary extremists we claim to be against.
One thing I’m very passionate about is the separation of Church and State.
Pete Hegseth has said our service members are fighting Iran “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Religion is important to many Americans, but America was not founded on one religion.
The President just posted that "a whole civilization will die tonight" if Iran does not comply. After entering a war no one wanted, Trump is threatening mass murder.
I'm urging every Cabinet Member and Republican leaders to call the President IMMEDIATELY. The Iranian people do not deserve this.
