When we fail to invest in our students, we fail to invest in our future.
Political attacks on vital NIH grants are limiting opportunity for the next generations of researchers. This will only damage our public health.

Western NC is still waiting for federal relief nearly a year after Hurricane Helene.
I fully support Governor Stein's push for federal action. I'll keep urging Congress and the White House to deliver on their promises to help Western North Carolinians.
If you want to get a vaccine, you should be able to.
While Trump and RFK Jr. try to limit Americans' access to safe and effective vaccines, I'm glad to see Gov. Stein working to expand access for North Carolinians.

The news of threats of violence against HBCUs across the country is appalling.
I'm grateful that as of now no violence has been reported. I expect the FBI and DOJ to thoroughly investigate these threats. Violence has no place in our society.
Healthcare costs are skyrocketing at rates we haven't seen in years. American families are paying more while Republicans continue to give handouts to billionaires. You deserve better.
September 11, 2001 changed this country forever. Twenty-four years later, we remember the lives senselessly cut short, those injured that day, and the people who showed bravery when it mattered most. We stand with the families still grieving and promise to never forget.
Camp Lejeune vets risked their lives to defend our country. They shouldn't have to wait any longer to access justice.
It’s shameful that Republican leadership blocked our bipartisan bill to support these brave veterans. We won't stop pushing to pass this bill.
Trump, Noem, and DOGE are slowing down the FEMA approval process, leaving NC towns and counties without recovery funding for months.
It's been nearly a year since Helene. Western North Carolinians can't afford these delays.

Insurance premiums are increasing and energy prices are surging thanks to Republicans' Big Ugly Law.
They promised to lower costs, but they're only making life more expensive while driving up unemployment.
Trump's Big Ugly Law will threaten NC's Medicaid expansion and raise costs across the state, all while leaving millions without healthcare or nutrition assistance.
This is wrong and it will hurt our state.

Are you interested in serving our country and attending one of our nation's premier Service Academies?
Join my office at our in-person Service Academy Day on September 20th to learn more about the application process and the experience.
This is what happens when leaders don't take public health seriously.
I hope this person gets the treatment they need. RFK and other vaccine skeptics must understand the gravity of their policies.

For 25 years, Hum Sub has been a cornerstone of cultural exchange in NC, allowing everyone to experience India and creating a community for Indian-Americans in the Triangle.
Thank you for inviting me to speak and for hosting the Discover India exhibition.
Shutdowns are bad for everyone. Congress must do its job to keep the government open and working.
While @housedemocrats.bsky.social push for a bipartisan solution to prevent a shutdown, Republicans continue to choose chaos instead.
Unemployment is rising. Hiring is at its worst level since 2021. And Trump's reckless tariffs and billionaire tax breaks are raising prices.
We can't afford Trump's economy.

Politicizing vaccines is dangerous for everyone in our country.
We have a responsibility to take care of our community. That means protecting their health.

Democracy survives when people are willing to stand up for it.
Thank you League of Women Voters for always standing up and for inviting me to speak about how we can continue to preserve and strengthen our democracy.
I visited Western NC to see the recovery efforts firsthand. While some areas are still in vital need of resources, I'm glad to see places like Lansing are back in business.
Lansing is hosting their town celebration Sept. 27!

Once again, a federal judge ruled that Trump acted illegally.
He cannot use the National Guard as his own police force. I'm glad to see the courts upholding our laws despite Trump's efforts to dismantle them.
