This week's MD-08 Local Hero is the formidable Dr. Eric Green, former Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at NIH. For more than three decades, before being sacked by DOGE, Dr. Green led critical genomic medical research for the American people.
Trump is now using the livelihoods of our federal workers as coercive leverage while refusing to negotiate to keep the government open. Democrats will stand strong for the health care of the people and the rights of federal workers.
My full statement:
Attorney General Bondi and Director Patel: We’re told you have video of Trump official Tom Homan accepting $50,000 in cash bribes stuffed into a CAVA bag in exchange for corruptly steering government contracts.
America smells a rat. Release the tapes now!
During Rosh Hashanah, we reflect on the blessings of our year and its sorrows and challenges. To my fellow Jewish Americans observing in MD-08 and across America: Shanah Tovah! May your 5786 be filled with sweetness and justice.
When Democrats defend democracy, we are protecting not only its legal and moral infrastructure, but all of its concrete material achievements for the people, like Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare.
When we defend democracy, we defend progress.
Thrilled to join Rockville Mayor Monique Ashton, Councilmembers Van Grack and Valeri, and a cast of thousands for the glorious and growing Bubble Tea Festival in Rockville this afternoon. We rallied for freedom, democracy and bubble tea!

Kyara, Camila and Brayan, we salute you for your steadfast leadership and advocacy with Students FAIR.
Under the First Amendment, the president doesn’t get to censor comedians, TV networks or political speech. Americans and our Constitution reject Kings, dictators and speech Commissars.
We’re fighting back against Trump & Hegseth’s Orwellian censorship crackdowns. My legislation with @houlahan.house.gov restores banned books to schools for children of our servicemembers, protecting students’ right to read, think and read.
DONALD, YOU DIDN'T SOLVE INFLATION. YOUR ILLEGAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL & DISCREDITED TARIFFS JACKED UP PRICES & AMERICAN FAMILIES ARE PAYING THE PRICE. BUT ENJOY YOUR TIME AWAY FROM THE EPSTEIN FILES W/ YOUR STRANGE JAUNT IN THE UK W/ A “KING”—REMEMBER WE DON’T ALLOW THEM HERE SIR!!
On National App Challenge Day, we’re searching out the talent and skills of young people in Maryland’s Eighth Congressional District. Calling all creative coders: submit your creative projects for this nationwide competition by October 30!

We celebrate the diverse cultures, rich traditions, and historic contributions of the Hispanic community in Maryland’s beautiful Eighth Congressional District and across America. Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! ¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!
Director Patel, you've been blinded by your loyalty to Donald Trump, and as a result, you've betrayed Epstein's victims, turned your back on career FBI agents and left the American people less safe.
“Put on your big boy pants and let us know who the pedophiles are." -Then-t-shirt salesman & children's book writer Kash Patel.
It's been 200 days since Director Patel has been sworn in but he's still covering up for Trump & won’t take his own advice & release the Epstein file.
FBI Director Kash Patel steps before @democrats-judiciary.house.gov on Wednesday. America wants answers about the ongoing coverup allowing Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and their billionaire pals to thwart justice for trafficking victims and accountability for predators.
Gabe—It’s been such a great honor to work alongside you to deliver for our people. We know you aren't close to done yet with your powerful service to MoCo., but we wish you and your family all the best in your next chapter.
This week's Local Hero is Joann Donnellan. Whether advocating for the Alzheimer’s Association, volunteering at St. Ann’s Center for Children or leading a meal pack honoring the memory of all those we lost on 9/11, this MD-08 Local Hero leads a life of constant service and engagement.
