Our communities are built on the strength, resilience, and love of the families who have lived here for generations.
What our immigrant communities are being subjected to right now is unconstitutional, illegal, and immoral. No one should live in fear in the country we call home.
Friends—there’s 10 days until Congress leaves for the holidays and a LOT is happening—from the Epstein files, to the NDAA, healthcare, and a slough of GOP “permitting” bills that would gut environmental protections, to bills we are introducing. There’s a lot on tap! ⬇️
The Trump Admin is trying to use food as a weapon AGAIN—threatening to cut off SNAP if states don’t hand over data.
We all know this is a thinly veiled attempt to further harm our communities, and we won’t stand for it. Proud of our state leaders for fighting back!
From visiting one of my favorite places—the Bernalillo Feed Store (Frank’s!)—to joining the Bernalillo Historical Society and Mayor Torres at the Community Museum to talk about the history of the town, to talking policy with State Senator Cindy Nava, a day spent in Bernalillo is a day well spent! ❤️💛
TIME IS UP—WE NEED A HEALTHCARE PLAN, NOW.
Why is the GOP not scheduling a vote in the House THIS WEEK?? The lives of millions of Americans are on the line. This is literally life or death.
We wanted to kick off the week by sharing some the joyful moments from the naturalization ceremony we attended last week.
Your stories are forever woven into the fabric of our country, our communities, and what it means to be New Mexican and American—and we are grateful you are here! 🇺🇸✨
But, clearly the work is not finished. The legacy of slavery and injustice continues to echo through our institutions, our policies, and the inequities our communities face. Particularly today.
We must continue bending the moral arc towards justice and defending the rights of our communities.
Today, we mark the ratification of the 13th Amendment—one of the most consequential steps in our country’s ongoing journey towards freedom and justice.
It certainly cannot be an accident that on the eve of the 13th Amendment’s anniversary, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority announced it would revisit birthright citizenship and the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
They have no plan - not even concepts of a plan - on how to fix it.
Time is running out! It’s time to step up and get to work for the American people!

It’s clear the WH and GOP have put the country in crisis.
Whether it’s healthcare, the cost of housing, food, and essentials, or the job market, tariffs, and precarious economy.

What a joy and honor to help kick off the opening of Albuquerque’s new Fire Station #12! To all of the firefighters and paramedics of Station #12—welcome home! We’re so grateful to be a part of this project and so many fire stations across the district! ❤️🚒
In NM, service is a way of life, and generations of families have worn the uniform. We are working to meet the needs of our veterans, so every veteran can thrive.
Grateful to appear before the Veterans Affairs Committee yesterday to talk about this commitment to service, right before leaving DC. 💙
Just landed in Albuquerque ✈️ to breaking news of the Supreme Court upholding Texas’s gerrymandered maps.
They know their agenda gutting healthcare, food, and education is so unpopular they can’t win—so they’re trying to cheat.
This is why the work cannot not stop! youtu.be/Y60qQo6IQY8
NM-01! I’ll be answering our phones LIVE in my NM office for District Office Hours, and I want to hear from all of you!
Give our office a call tomorrow, December 5th, starting at 3:00 pm MT, so we can chat. Our number is (505) 346-6781. Talk to you tomorrow!! ☎️
Under the current maps, they know they can’t win—which is why they’re trying to cheat. This is why we not only need #SCOTUS reform, but must keep organizing! #Powertothepeople
Folks, this is the same conservative Supreme Court majority brought to you by the people who funded Project 2025. Are we the least bit surprised that they’re upholding gerrymandered maps in TX that the president demanded?
Friends—the clock is ticking. There’s no more time for “concepts of a plan.” It’s time to extend ACA health subsidies before millions lose their healthcare. We’re ready to get a fix across the finish line. Are you?
No community should be forced to bear the weight of a system that profits from human suffering.
Private, for-profit prisons have no place in a fair and free democracy—and especially profiting off the suffering of an inhumane and undemocratic detention system.
Period.
ICYMI: Trump’s AI and crypto czar, David Sacks, is using his role as a Special Government Employee to line his pockets.
Earlier this year, @warren.senate.gov and I introduced the SGE Ethics Enforcement & Reform Act, which would expand & strengthen ethics and conflict of interest rules for all SGEs.
