As the Trump Administration and GOP are trying to dismantle the Department of Education—we stand with our schools, our students, and our teachers!
Department of Ed was born out of the Civil Rights Movement and is as important as ever. We stand with every public school and kid across America! ✊
Good morning on this rainy day in DC! Coming at you from our nation’s capital to give you the latest. Here’s what’s happening. ⬇️
I hope you all had a beautiful and restful holiday! As I am on my way back to DC—there’s a lot on our plates! Here’s what’s going on in the final three weeks of Congress before the holidays. ⬇️
In case it’s not already obvious—Donald Trump and his people are for sale. And, they’ll happily sell out our allies too. ⬇️
As I get on a plane this morning to head back to DC—it’s been such a joyful weekend back home giving thanks with family and friends. It’s been an absolutely gorgeous fall—and I wanted to share a few of the moments I’ve been so grateful to experience the last few months. 🌻🍁🦋🌈
And, we honor the continued work to uphold Tribal sovereignty, protect sacred lands and waters, and ensure every Indigenous community has a seat at the table.
Today and every day, as we celebrate the last day of #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, we honor the Indigenous communities who have shaped New Mexico and our country for countless generations.
The Martineztown neighborhood is one of the most historic & iconic neighborhoods in all of ABQ.
We visited community leaders, elders & advocates to hear more about the history and people that make this community who it is. There is so much history in our own backyard!

That’s why it is so important to support our small businesses like Retail Therapy ABQ, People & Planet Refill, and Michael Thomas Coffee, which we visited in Nob Hill this week.

Happy #SmallBusinessSaturday!
The vast majority of businesses in New Mexico are small businesses—which are the backbone of our communities and employ our people.
Every single one of us knows a local entrepreneur or small business owner.
Maybe that person is even you!

Know that every story, conversation and connection we share is something I cherish and carry with me in my work on behalf of New Mexico. You inspire me to keep fighting and I am grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you! ❤️
Being home this week—it is truly joyful to be reminded how vibrant, compassionate, and connected our community is.
But, this work isn’t just about adoptions—it’s about ensuring animals are well cared for, have access to vet care and food, and families in need have support for their beloved friends.
Join us and volunteer, help out, or adopt your new best friend! 🐶🐾
We love our furry friends! Every year thousands of cats and dogs end up in shelters across New Mexico. That’s why we are so grateful for Animal Humane NM and other shelters who care for them on their way to their forever homes.

What are you thankful for this year? For me—it’s all of you and the opportunity to serve our communities. Here’s what some of our friends and neighbors had to say this week as well. ❤️

Is DOGE dead?
Whatever it is—we know it has left a legacy of damage and destruction in its wake—and we are ready to pivot to a politics of hope!
Join us and share your ideas as we reimagine not only the fight for our democracy, but also how to restore our country and the work ahead!
Heartbroken to learn of the shooting of two National Guardsmen in our nation’s capital. Sending our prayers to our service members and their loved ones. 💔
This year, as part of our week of thanks, we volunteered at @animalhumanenm.bsky.social. In times like these, it’s so important to do things that give back and bring joy!
These furry constituents are looking for their forever homes. Thank you, Animal Humane NM, for loving them in the meantime. 🐾❤️
