West Michigan, we know this Big, Ugly Bill is bad for the American people. Rep. Jeffries is on the House floor sharing stories of the everyday Americans who will be impacted, and we want to hear from you. Share your story here: democraticleader.house.gov/shareyourstory.
Proud to sit beside @demwomencaucus.bsky.social leaders in support of our Leader, Rep. Jeffries, as he continues his marathon speech. We'll never stop fighting for the America that women and families deserve.
Republicans are lying in wait to rip your health care away to score tax breaks for their billionaire buddies. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are laser-focused on the everyday Americans whose livelihoods are at risk, including more than 450,000 Michiganders. We won't let this bill pass quietly.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are unified against the Big, Ugly, Terrible Bill that would rip away health care from millions and jack up prices for the middle class. Will four Republicans be brave enough to join us? Or will they all choose to make life HARDER for you all?
What is the rush to make life worse for everyday Americans? Why are Republicans jamming a bill through Congress that many of them don’t even like? @housedemocrats.bsky.social are united in our opposition to this bill. We just need 4 Republicans to vote their conscience and kill this awful bill.
The Big Ugly Bill does NOTHING to lower your costs. In fact, it will raise costs for everyday Americans on everyday items. As a founding member of the Lowering Costs Caucus, this is unacceptable. See below for 9 ways that your costs would rise if H.R. 1 is passed.
With the narrow passage of the Big Ugly Bill, H.R. 1, in the Senate, it now heads back to the House. The VP had to break a tie and strong-arm the bill through the Senate — another sign of this bill’s deep unpopularity. It is NOT a mandate of the American people.
I was pleased to tour Wolverine Worldwide, a global leader in footwear marketing. West Michigan-owned businesses are a crucial part of our economy, and I’m always rooting for their success!
We know that many kids face hunger over the summer when they aren’t receiving meals at school. Gather 2 Grow/Feeding America Michigan are working hard to change that by providing free summer lunch to nearly 20 counties across our state. Thanks for your important work to keep our kids’ bellies full.
These firefighters were doing their jobs, working to protect our lands and the communities around them from a fire, and were met with a senseless act of gun violence. It's unconscionable. I'm praying for the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy in Idaho. apnews.com/article/coeu...
Right now, Senate Republicans are preparing to RAISE healthcare costs for TWENTY MILLION Americans who can least afford it. The American affordability crisis is about to get so much worse, making it harder to stay healthy and achieve the American Dream.
Although I’m partial to my own golden retriever, Smoky, it was such a joy to meet some of the hardworking Warrior Canines in Washington, who act as recovery buddies and service dogs for our veterans.
I’m glad to see that Dept. of Commerce heard my request to invest in Michigan manufacturing and boost domestic production. Thanks to my advocacy, the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center has received the full funding it needs to continue its important work.
Dept. of Commerce and the Trump Administration must continue to invest in Michigan’s unrivaled manufacturing output to spur job growth and maintain our competitiveness and edge in the global manufacturing space. 🧵
Today, we remember #Stonewall and the birth of the Pride movement. As our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors, and family members face increasing hostility from the federal government, we must never forget the spirit of Stonewall. We must continue fighting for full equality.
As elected officials we bear the responsibility to lower the temperature. Statements like this do the exact opposite—they fan the flames of hatred. Speaker Johnson and House Republicans need to immediately condemn Rep. Andy Ogles and enforce disciplinary action.
Unbelievable. We are experiencing a monumental rise in political violence (on both sides) in this country. It stems from hatred and putting a bullseye on those with whom we disagree.
Thanks to the Michigan students from the Student Association for STEM Advocacy for their important work to expand access to STEM education. In our ever-modernizing workforce, it’s crucial to have young leaders interested in STEM fields to keep our country on the cutting edge.
