On Presidents’ Day, I’m thinking about the legacy of West Michigander, President Gerald R. Ford.
I follow in his footsteps in sharing the same commitment to doing the very best I can for MI-03 and our nation. Happy #PresidentsDay, West Michigan!
I came to Congress to build an economy where every American has the chance to not just get by, but to get ahead!
As a returning Member of the @equality.house.gov, I'm committed to ensuring fairness for the LGBTQ+ community at every turn!
Importantly, this bipartisan bill provides clear direction for improving our nation's aging air traffic control systems — like the 60-year old tower at GRR.
I'm standing with my T&I colleagues to call on the FAA Administrator Duffy to do his job and implement the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 to ensure aviation and passenger safety. 🧵

I'm standing with fellow former DOJ employees in Congress to call for a thorough investigation into any potential wrongdoing by officials who should be upholding the highest ethical standards. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/u...
I proudly served at the Department of Justice before being elected to Congress, which is why I'm so concerned about the potential ethics violations of Trump's appointees at the DOJ. 🧵
Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you to every West Michigander who sent Team Scholten a Valentine for a Veteran, it meant the world to share our community’s appreciation with these heroes.
Purging over 100,000 federal employees—including 1,000+ VA workers—is a complete abandonment of those who fought for our freedom. Our veterans deserve top-of-the-line care, not increased wait times and understaffed facilities. The Trump Admin must do better for our veterans & their families.
As the daughter of an educator, I'm determined to advocate for our schools and students here in Congress. I met with leaders from NEA Michigan to discuss how we can keep supporting public schools and protecting the crucial funding needed to educate our next generation of change-makers.
Welcome, anglers! Served up some great ice this year for ya! 🎣

NEXT WEEK: I'll be hosting a telephone town hall and would love to hear from you. This will be a great chance for you to ask me questions directly and for me to provide some updates on the important work I'm doing to push back on the Trump and House Republican agenda. Hope you can tune in.
Wrapping up a week of votes in Washington, and I wanted to give a quick recap of the work I’m focused on, West Michigan.
📲If you’d like to hear more directly from me and ask questions yourself, tune into my telephone town hall next Wednesday, February 19th, at 5:30 pm! Hope to hear from you.
It was great to speak with West Michigan Fire Chiefs about keeping firefighters safe from PFAS, expanding their workforce, and advocating for the funding they need to continue serving our community.
It's been two years since the tragic shooting at Michigan State University where we lost three innocent souls. My prayers are with the families of the victims and the entire MSU community today.
House Republicans just came out with their budget plan. Make no mistake: this plan will raise your costs, slash essential food programs and healthcare, and make cuts to public education. It's a disaster for everyday Americans, and @housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting back to stop it.
Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy, and I’m pushing back as the Trump Administration tried to undermine our nation’s entrepreneurs.
I’m staying informed and responding with action. Keep tuning in here for more updates.
I’m staying in touch with leaders from West Michigan’s ag community — like members of the Michigan Farm Bureau I met with — to ensure their priorities for the 2025 Farm Bill are heard. It’s essential that we support our farmers and the workers who help put food on our tables.
Trump’s decision to suspend state electric vehicle infrastructure shows a blatant disregard for American workers and the multi-level partnerships these projects spur.
My @transportdems.bsky.social colleagues and I wrote a letter to voice our concerns. More here. scholten.house.gov/media/press-...
