The most appalling part of this case isn’t even that the Trump Administration wrongfully deported an innocent man with protected legal status to El Salvador – it’s the fact that, even after recognizing the magnitude of their mistake, they refuse to take responsibility and bring him home.
Trump put in place the largest tax increase on the American people yesterday. Meanwhile, House Republicans ran out of DC early so they won't have to defend Trump's tax hike. On today's Democratic Daily Download, @repdelbene.bsky.social explains what this means for families, businesses and farmers.
A DOGE staffer mishandled Americans’ personal data. This is exactly what folks feared would happen when Trump granted unfettered access to our most private information to tech bros. I partnered with Congresswomen Shontel Brown & Suzan DelBene to demand an independent investigation.

The overwhelming majority of Americans agree: we obviously shouldn’t be trying to make more children go hungry. Yet Republicans in Congress continue to push for cuts to food assistance programs that make sure 300,000 children in Massachusetts get a nutritious lunch or go to bed on a full stomach.
Prices are high. The stock market is in free fall. And Donald Trump’s solution is to double down on his reckless trade war. Tariffs mean Americans will pay more for food, utilities, clothes and appliances. Where are Republicans in Congress? Why won’t they speak up for their constituents?
Americans should be the ones in control of our personal data – not shady middlemen who harvest our most sensitive information and auction it off to the highest bidder. I just reintroduced the DELETE Act to put power back where it belongs: in the hands of consumers.
Blue and white graphic titled: NEW LEGISLATION: THE DELETE ACT" with the text "Right now, shady data brokers are harvesting your personal data and auctioning it off to the highest bidder. What if you could delete your information from their databases in just one click?"
American families deserve leaders who understand the struggles parents face.   That’s why @pettersen.house.gov is fighting to make Congress more accessible to parents and families through her bipartisan resolution to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely after their child is born.
It was great to kick off my day with The New England Council this morning on Capitol Hill! Grateful for the chance to connect with leaders from across the region to discuss how I’m standing up for Massachusetts workers, businesses and communities!

House Republicans just canceled votes in Washington for the rest of the week.   Why? Because Speaker Mike Johnson tried to block a vote that would allow new moms to vote remotely while taking care of their newborns.   He failed. Now, he's taking his ball and going home.
In today's Democratic Daily Download, Rep John Larson calls out Trump-Musk's attacks on Social Security. They're coming after your earned benefits. Today, we'll hear directly from Americans who are impacted by these cuts. We're fighting for families and seniors, not billionaires!
Republicans are forcing a vote this week on the “SAVE Act”, a messaging bill with dangerous consequences: Stripping 69 million American women of their right to vote – just because their name changed when they got married.
This is completely unacceptable. The courts found that DOGE staffers were granted access to Social Security’s administrative system — a trove of our most private data — BEFORE their background checks were completed. It’s time to update our privacy laws to stop this from ever happening again.
